Were you able to make the factory usb port work woth the new unit? I used the adapter and connected the factory USB/aux connector to one of the two usb cable that come out of the head unit, but it just doesn't work.

Nope as long as you have the factory versions of those things they should work

Those three apps on the bottom are just you’re most recent apps. They change as you open different apps

I followed your link to purchase and one of the pictures shows it saying "For 2005-2011". Not the 2005-2015 like you said. I have a 2012 TRD Sport.

Just wondering if you found the correct GPS adapter for your factory shark fin antenna? I also have a 2012 Tacoma with the JBL system and have been unsuccessful in finding an an adapter that would enable me to use the shark fin GPS antenna. Any clues you could offer would be appreciated! Thanks for the code that gave me $50 off! I have installed the AUCar head unit into my Off Road Tacoma and am really enjoying it!

Update: I found the correct adapter at my local car audio dealer but it can be purchased at Crutchfield for $16.99. Their part number is: iDatalink ACC-SAT-TO1 sTO1. Shark fin antenna activated!

This is truly amazing. Thanks for sharing this video. I've seen a few comments on some Tacoma forums of things feeling a bit glitchy? Have you had any issues since this video has been posted? Some mentioned the touchscreen not being super responsive? Also something about not being viewable to polarized lenses? Just curious if there's been any other updates. I'm super interested in making this purchase.

Yeah I still love it but when I get around to doing the follow up video I do have some issues with it. Yes you can’t see it very well with polarized sun glasses. The touch screen has been plenty responsive but sometimes it does glitch. Sometimes I’ll change the song and on the screen it will do it right away but the audio might lag. I have also had it just restart on its own a few times. Overall though nothing that has been such a big deal that I would want to go back to the old head unit.

@@GabeRiggs so I do have a sub but it’s the factory sub that comes with the tx Baja and so it worked with the factory harnesses just fine and I didn’t have to do anything special

I showed everything that is universal as far as removing the old unit and mounting this one. Your instruction manual will help you match up all your correct wiring harnesses which wouldn’t make sense for me to do because mine is so unique (2012 w/JBL) and these very by year of Tacoma. It’s completely plug and play. If it’s your first time doing something like this it may look more intimidating then it is. Just take it one harness at a time.
