Yes, no kidding the only video regarding the reinforcement bar rather than cover. Thanks a bunch. I am curious though because the damage you had to your bumper looks exactly like my damage My damage was from a hit and run and have tried to figure out what hit the car. No damage to either of my headlamps. Like maybe someone backing into it with a tow hitch even then I think they would have to have backed up really quickly to do the damage. The bar is almost in the shape of a V

I wonder if it's possible to strengthen the metalwork that's already there. It looks so thin and crumply. Maybe cut some pieces of scaffolding pipe into shape, and weld them together using the existing frame as a guide.

What did you torque it to? ?? I’m working on a 2007 Mazda 5. And before removing it I was testing what the torque was with my torque wrench and I tried 50ft lbs and it was too much force. So I tried 35ft lbs and was good?
@tubejim1015 жыл бұрын
You can lookup bolt torque by size and grade. So if you have an aluminum, 14mm, 35ft lbs sound close enough. Should check the manual for your car. Oil drain plugs are in the 30s, for aluminum pans.

You can just call Honda Dealer and they can look it up. Or, you can look at their online parts diagram.

Did torque specs ever show up anywhere? Still need to consult service manual but I have my 08 M3 completely torn down - enginevout, major surgical work. Those 4 bolts on the front bumper reinforcement at each side are similar to those at the transaxle mount which call fir 83 ft lbs if #8 or 110 ft lbs if #10. Nyvthoughts are that if not torqued very well with loctite, the front end will begin to rattle & make strange noises. Anything?

You can call your Honda dealer, some times they are not to expensive. If they are, you can just get some at a hardware store. Also, you can find a crashed car, and buy them off that.

@@SD-ll1zq Always keep your old parts, till your done with the job. I have had parts sent to me that where welded together wrong. Check it against your original, to make sure they did not make a mistake. Also, always check with Honda on cost. Sometime they have good prices.
