I reached out to ProSport to ask about the harness for this application, since the run from the sender to the gauge is so long in a Vanagon. They replied by stating that I'd likely lose accuracy, either on the low or high end of the reading, depending upon the wire gauge I choose. Too light and you lose accuracy on the higher end, and vice versa for too heavy a gauge. It's possible that they're accustomed to a really discerning audience, and like you, I'm just interested to know the patterns and particularly to be aware of issues on the low end. That said, what did use for a harness (i.e. gauge and number of conductors) and have you experienced accuracy issues (your comments about accuracy overall in the video not withstanding)?

Wouldn't the coolant only flow through that fitting when the front heater is on?
