Col, I may be wrong, but not sure if those banjo fittings that you are using on the master cylinders will have a reliable seal against the outlet of the master cylinder. The master cylinders, to my knowledge, are designed for the tapered compression seal. The face that the banjo fittings are using to seal on may not always be machined well enough to seal, as they are not designed for that. Better to use an adapter if you want to use the banjo fittings, or have the new braided lines made with the correct tapered end fitting. Of course I may well be wrong and those master cylinders can have the banjo fitted directly to them.

Hey thanks for the heads up although the copper washers in between will take up the sealing imperfections as long as the both surfaces are flat. I’ve run that braided line with the banjo fitting for almost 11 years without incident. 👍🏼

@@classicminidiy That’s good to hear. I do really like the braided lines for sure.

Hi Cole, (Sorry - I guess you answered this question at the time) but I note that you opted to take advantage of the extra performance that the carb trumpets probably give, as opposed to having filter boxes?

I see you are not running the servo on the clutch? Did that not work for you? Have you road tested the Webber setup yet? Thanks

Does look great 👌🏻 copper lines not brass btw That carb trumpet is so close to the master cylinder! Does it knock at all?
@classicminidiy4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think the fittings are brass though. I was getting it mixed up in my head. The trumpet isn't actually as close as it looks in that image though. There is about 40-50mm between the trumpet and the master cylinder.

What is stoping you to use only braided líneas all the way to the brakes instead of using Copper tubing?

Hi Cole, I was wondering if I could pick your brain for a minute. How far should your clutch pedal go down when you push it down to put the car in gear? The clutch pedal on my 75 Mini I am restoring doesn't go down to the floor but is about 2 " up from the floor when depressed fully. Does this mean the system needs to be bled more. The Mini has a new clutch master cylinder and a new clutch slave cylinder. Hopefully not to confuse the issue but when I pushed the clutch in with the motor running the motor stalled.(not in gear)

I just sent hel performance an email. Hopefully they get back to me soon. They are based out in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. I want the exact color you got cole. Any information is greatly appreciated.
@classicminidiy4 жыл бұрын
I believe I got the "carbon" color from what I remember. You'll need to measure the distance between your master cylinder and the fittings you want to connect to for them to make up the lines correctly.
