A rehostat is nothing but a variable resistor which reduces the voltage to the lights basically like a volume button in a stereo

I remember maruti offering this feature via dash instead of a switch in ritz. Kinda useless coz there was not a single time where i felt i need to dim the dashboard lights. Though i always wanted to have similar switch for cabin lights. Sometimes in dark the led cabin lights are so bright if you have white/grayish interior and there no way to dim them down.

Hey quick question, I wanted to do this too but I seem to be stuck. According to my car’s manual, fuse #7 is listed as “button lights, license plate lights”. But to my surprise, slot 7 is totally empty in my fuse box. Is there anywhere else power will come to interior lights? Mine is a 089 bcm, can I retrofit the dimmer or is it not possible?

For 89BCM an additional Pin needs to be added in the BCM from the dimmer switch connector
