hey boss after the EGR plug, did your check engine light go off, I just installed my headers, and is it still able to pass smog too??? just wondering...

No I never got the check engine light, but no after u delete everything and add the longtubes it won’t pass smog

I just installed LTs on my 03 Silverado with the 5.3 and it ran great for a day then driving it started miss firing and stalled

You need to tune it

And make sure your spark plug wires aren't touching your headers

After checking everything fuel and spark related, I thought let me check the fuel pressure regulator and sure enough it’s history so problem solved

What kind of spark plug wires did you run? I currently slapped on some long tube headers on my 5.3 and my spark plug duralast wires touch the headers in pretty sure they’ll melt if I run it for a while..

Yeah you have to run heat wrap on the wires, I ran duralast too

I'm running a 1 7/8 long tube headers on my stock 5.3 engine ? Do I need to tune my truck or anything ? First start it turned on and onces I turned it off and Start the truck agin , it just Cranks that's it ... has spark

I drove mine for a week with out a tune you lose some bottom end power but think that’s from something else, check o2s maybe

You didn’t need a block off plate just crimp the pipe going in to intake

Yes, u can either make a dent in the headers or cut the little tab on the shaft
