I'm running a dell optiplex windows 7 x64. No firewire Jack's on the computer. But I have a Firewire female to USB Male adapter. But it still doesnt read on my computer or the control panel. Any ideas?

Firewire won't work through the USB, sorry.

@@turboskywalker9108 you need a firewire card, if you can, get one with the texas instruments chipset, it's the most stable and reliable, but any would work.

@@deafmouse- I did get it to work but it took a while and it's a bit problematic. Long story short, I was able to record 11 tracks simultaneously. However after say 10-12 mins of recording said tracks, the recording would "skip". That is to say it wouldn't record chunks of audio, thus on playback the audio jumps ahead. I tried finding a work around but concluded that the M-Audio driver wasn't intended for windows 10 version i have. I'm not a computer engineer but wondering if there was data packet loss during the A/D conversion (just a guess). And so random..., i just got my focusrite clarett+ to replace the profire2626 today, haven't even opened the box. Hopefully focusrite is as good/better than the profire2626

I installed m-audio driver, luckily everything works with VIA Espada PCIe 1394a ver.2 adapter. So while I can work with it, don't throw away yours cards :)

Good video! I wanted to know If you have any advice or information about the M-Audio ProFire2626... I'm trying to connect it to my PC with Windows 10 with no succes... I've installed a PCIe FireWire Card that is functioning correctly, the M-Audio interface is working too but no matter what I do I always receive the message which says that "no M-Audio ProFire device could be found." Do you have any information about it? It would be very appreciated!

I think you can use the same method to make that working. You may need power adapter for your M-Audio 2626

I'm loving this video. Every other picture or video I can find of the ProFire Control Panel is in Mac OS. I was starting to think that the Control Panel doesn't exist for Windows. I have installed the drivers, but I don't seem to have the knob shortcut that shows up in your task bar after the reboot. I use Brave, too! :P

Nevermind, I finally got it. I think mine does run automatically without doing the startup folder step. I uninstalled to try reinstalling and got a window saying that I needed to close the tray application. I continued with the uninstallation. When I reinstalled, the tray application was there. I had a moment where I had trouble getting it to recognize my device, but all is well now. Thanks for this video giving me hope that this application exists (and works in Win 10).

super cool video thanks - my issue is i am running a 410 and lookin to upgrade as the 410 doesnt have balanced outputs and it disconnects when i switch clock from internal to external to use spdif . like an hour after switching back it will disconnect ... anyway i like the 410 , but i am concerned about reading the 610 has latency in the tracks when you multitrack record in windows . what are your thoughts . experience . are you multi track recording ? most of my pieces top out near 50 tracks .

Thanks for your comment. I bought Behringer Xr18, no driver needs for Mac or Linux, only small driver for windows. It has a lot of io and the price is cheap in my opinion. It's not only audio interface but digital mixer. I don't use my M-Audio anymore, too much hassle.

What windows 10 version are you using? I had a previous windows 10 and profile 610 worked I updated wi does now it don't work I can possibly install your windows 10 version to get it to work.

The 20h2 don't work it's the 1902 or earlier I updated to 20h2 and now it don't work I tried legacy driver to don't work so it's definitely a previous windows 10 that works perfect with the m audio drivers installing correctly. Before I was able to open the m audio up on desktop and use it between programs and also I had an icon to. When m audio installs correctly during install you get a prompt of a little speaker icon driver to install if that don't pop up it does not install correctly.

Your laptop should have firewire port, if yes then it will work.

Just so everyone knows the fix for this is the correct version of windows 10 the newest does not support. Some got legacy driver to work but honestly ....my previous windows 10 before I updated it worked perfect no issues.
