Installing Our Solar Panels | DIY 10kW Solar Panel Tilt Mount

We are working on our solar project, were we will be building a diy 10kW Solar System on our homestead in Mongolia. It has been our dream to live off-grid which is all part of our road to become self sufficient and self sustainable here. This week we are finishing off the solar tilt mount. We are building a custom tilt ground mount system and go throw the whole installation of our Solar System. We also install the 18 555w Solar Panels on our ground mount system.
This is all part of the adventure and joinery to an off-grid homestead in the land of the blue sky.

Hey guys looking great so far well done! I dont know if youre gonna cable the panels in series or parallel but if youre gonna do them in series remember if one panel is shaded in the string then the rest of the panels of that string will have the same output as that shaded panel and not their max.

I was thinking the same thing - in that last shot it really looks like the bottom of the right hand array is shaded at the bottom. Good to know it was just end of day shading, that would have been a bad mistake.

You stopped uploading the footage in 4k. That's understandable, probably few people can stream that and it takes a lot more time processing, editing and uploading. The greenhouse project is all in 4k.

I was so happy to do it in 4k but yes we have no internet here and upload from our phones.. it used to take 8to12 hours for a 4k upload. We still record every and edit in 4k.. what do you think?

@SimpleWildLiving You're in the outback, so this is completely understandable. Faster internet, like satellite internet, is probably too expensive. In the city, there is likely faster internet, but you would have to know someone there who can set it up for you. Maybe, in time, a solution will be found. For now, HD is fine, I think. I just noticed the difference in quality when watching the greenhouse in 4k, but I'm probably the only one, as you said, who even watches this in 4k. 😄

​@@SimpleWildLivingit's fine. I watch HD on my 4K TV all the time and from most reasonable viewing distances you're really not going to notice. It's not like you're making an art-house movie here. And for everyone viewing on a phone or laptop it's a complete waste. Since you have the content in 4K you can always update later if really necessary.

Yes it will work the only gotchas i read about DIY solar panel installation is for is for the installer to make sure the system is grounded properly for any potential lighting strikes. Electric has always been a major part or the key if you will of being self sufficient and self sustainable in Mongolia. Ash, Zulaa & Flame remember when the lights got on in the city of UB yours will still be on.
