My gray plastic bushings pull out really easily, unlike yours. I can't imagine they help against pull-out resistance, but can see how they protect against cutting if there is a lot of regular movement (which i have no idea how that would transpire with a "fixture").

In plastic boxes any metal connectors must be grounded. The typical method is using grounding bushings. Any ungrounded metal that circles a conductor essentially creates inductive resistance. This is why most people use the plastic connectors you’ve shown in your video.

Learned about the romexes hours ago . I will redo the additional light because even though it's new I need a stay on light and not a motion based one. That master is there a push in i can use to keep from undoing my wires???

If replacing existing light fixtures with standard wiring with a recessed light fixtures do youbhave tonuse romex

Are romex connectors code requirement? What is their purpose?

The housing is made of metal, without the bushing there is a chance the wire will rub against the sharp edge of the light housing and potentially cut the wire. This could cause a short, a fire, or potentially electrify the recessed light housing.

Mine use TP 24s. A little better to use IMHO.

To be up to code you need the bushing… however, for lights that never move if you don’t have it… the odds of anything ever cutting is absolutely 0.
