As far as the storage with Proxmox you can always easily move it to another drive! Also great music during the montage.

i cant get it to see all the traffic i know my port mirroring is working i took laptop and wireshark see all the traffic but not on SO :( running the newest proxmox, is there a better guide?

So getting ready to install - I checked my Proxmox and as well as my normal Nic , I also have an interface to my switch defined as Mirror (using Ubiquiti), so that interface shows as TAP - so am I right that I don't need to do anything special, as my VM will see both

This is great but why would your TAP be transmitting? It should be receive only right? Also, I have a small project that involves PROXMOX and software similar to SO. What is a good way to contact you to further discuss? I would expect this would be service for a fee. Thanks!

Security onion is kinda of a man in the middle you want to receive everything and then send it back out you probably could just receive but there is going to be info you loose.
