Here's a look at how I installed new Skyscreen Hatch Covers on the boat. An easy and straightforward job, with greatly appreciated results!

As I mentioned - and maybe you watched my install on our last boat - they offer much appreciated light blocking, both for the hot sun, as well as early morning daylight. Being able to sleep in a little on the weekend is always welcome and shutting out daylight really helps with that.

I still have the original hatch covers. So far mine are working as they should....fingers crossed.

Ours were technically working fine, but no longer provided adequate light blocking.

Hi Paul, I am in So. California and work on a '98 3700 Searay Sundancer. It is in bad shape.. everything is falling apart! Could you please tell me the oceanair screen hatch for the forward hatch as well as the two in the main salon. Your video was so helpful on how to remove the frames..screen is dangling and doesn't retract. Also what Merc engines are in your boat? Where do you get your engine parts? Hard to find out here. Happy boating season..your boat is beautiful.

Wow, so many questions. If you look closely in the video, I believe the sizes are shown on the old units. Di t quote me, but I believe the bigger ones are 20" x 20" and the one smaller one is 12" x 12" - but be sure to check yours before ordering. As for the engines, probably the same as your '98 - twin 7.4 Mercruiser Bluewater engines. I get my engine parts from local marinas.

What did the replacement cover cost? Curious, my wife said she found them on line for several hundred bucks (American), I think she's smoking something... Our 400SB hatch cover is in need to replace,ent.

Look around. You should figure on anywhere from $200 - $400, depending on the vendor.

Paul, how do you get the curtain over the ports back on the tracks in the corners? My hands can't get in there. Thanks

Not exactly sure what you're referring to. Anchor Girl removed all the curtains last year when we bought the boat, so she could wash them and I think she just took them off their hooks (for lack of a better term). I do know that there's a small screw that needs to be loosened at the outside ends of the tracks to allow the curtains to be pulled inward.

@BoatingWithBoogaboo thanks. I will look for that screw. On the ends of the rods there is nothing to stop the curtain clips from coming off. But maybe by taking them down, I can fix the rod and wash them.
