Thanks for this. Not only gave me a good duplexer to get, but reminded me how to use the tuner.

I have the same antenna and similar set up but I have to keep it much lower because of my HOA... Do you see any issues if my radials extend under my soffit and gutter? They end about 6, inches from the brick on my house. Will this cause any issues?

The gutter is what would give you problems. Metal in the area of the ground plane and radiator can cause "reflection". You should find an SWR meter to test it.

A cut chart is included in the instructions. It will get you close. Use low power and your radio's SWR meter to get closer to 1:1. I have a video about tuning a CB antenna. You need to know what shorter or longer does.

Do you have to have a duplexer?
@personalradiofun526 Жыл бұрын
For my radio, yes. The Yaesu FT-857 has two antenna connectors on the back. One supports 2m & 70 CM. The other is for HF & 6m. Since I use the 70 cm, 2m, and 6m I need the duplexer. Note that some HF rigs have a separate connector 2m and for 70cm. So a triplexer would be needed.
