I like the custom cabinet that will match the depth and color of the other two wall cabinet... only no door just open cabinet shelves OR... you could split the two cabinets on the wall and add a Custom Bridge in between them for a more Balanced feel. ❤

Love it! I would cut the baseboard so the cabinet can be installed flush against the left wall. You will then have a small gap between the two base cabinets but you can add a filler strip to cover that and paint it white. For the wall cabinets, I’d move the left cabinet against the left wall so the shelves can go between the two or remove smaller wall cabinet and have more room for the shelves. 😊

Hi. I'm excited to see the laundry room nearing completion! Congrats. My suggestion would be to go with three chunky wood shelves that are the same depth as the wall cabinet. You can stain them the same color as the door to bring in more natural elements to the room and break up with white a bit. No shelves on the long wall. I think you will become annoyed with anything that sticks out once you start using your fridge and washer/dryer. Artwork of some kind would be great. Also, you mentioned you want that finished, custom look, so perhaps just trim out the cabinets with thin molding or something similar.

Kayla, the great thing about neutral colors like white, cream, grey or beige is that you can change the soft decor like rugs, towels, pictures, etc when you want a different color or look, even the hardware! And Marcus is the best!

Hey there! For the space between the wall and the cabinet, I recommend a hanging rod (maybe even in brass!). That small width would be the perfect size to hang dry items that you don't put in the machine.

#1. How I WISH I had a Marcus… girl you are blessed. When I renovated my little 8x8 kitchen, every contractor i called tried to take advantage of left me and right. #nomanvisable #2. That small area for floating shelves will still be a GREAT use of space and it will match the kitchen well. Besides it would look a little unbalanced with a cabinet. #3. Find some pretty long/deep baskets that fit in that shelf area. Build the shelves out so they go fully from back to front. Use 3 or 4 of them, from the bottom of the cabinet to the top. Then use your pretty brackets on a long high shelf between the W/D & frig on that big, empty wall. Amazing job! You are going to LOVE that you waited to do this & now have an entry from the inside the house. Just beautiful!

Hi Kayla, it's Shontrail and I've been watching you for a couple of years now. Me & my 18 yr old son inherited a home with a lot of land and I just wanta say when it comes to ideas & getting things done, you & Marcus are truly an inspiration. We had the kitchen & bathroom totally stripped, so we're looking at open floor plans & we get to design both totally how we want them to look.. Yayyyyy! My only nuge is that every time we have someone come in to do the measurements & I say I want this that way & this here, it's always you should to this & that.🙄 I'm really starting to think we can just do it ourselves, especially the bathroom and only call someone in when we need specific help in certain areas. First I just have to say I don’t want to be selfish but I hope your videos never come to an end. I don’t know what it is but it’s so calming and I’ve had a rough tense weekend and as soon as I turned it on everything on the inside just was calm made me smile. Oh my goodness I absolutely love your floor in your laundry room I am so surprised how the lighter grout was I was thinking more gray but I’m glad you didn’t do that. White cabinets absolutely is the best choice for a small room otherwise you’re gonna feel closed in. I am so glad Marcus didn’t mash his toes while moving the refrigerator barefooted. The round knobs are the best.If you did the shelves by the cabinet they would be like a little cubbies flesh with the cabinet. If you extend the shelves from the side of the cabinet all the way to the window seal stopping just at the countertop or the upper cabinet and then put a bar underneath the last shelf to hang blouses or shirts that might be wanting to hang/air dry. Hey Kayla, I thought you probably knew about the Habitat for Humanity RESTORE store. They are awesome. They have cabinets, lighting, tools and nice items that builders donate when buyers chose to have custom cabinets instead. The prices are great PLUS there is additional savings by the color of the stickers on different days. The one I would frequent was over in Smyrna, off South Cobb Drive. You guys should ck it out. I wish you knew b4 you went to Lowes for ur cabinets. The laundry room is coming together beautifully 🤗

You definately need to add another small cabinet. If an l shaped cabinet can fit in that space then i would do that. You cant go wrong with more cabinet space. I suggest you put corner shelves in the top area of the cabinet, a piece of board between the bottom cabinet and the wall for a custom look, and artwork on the plain white wall instead of shelves unless you absolutely need the space for storage, or a foldable hanger that lies flush against the wall to dry wet clothes when needed.

Hello Marcus & Kayla. I was thinking about a narrow table for folding & ironing on the wall between the Fridge & W/D. Under that table you can put your baskets for clothes. Hey, Kayla! Your laundry room is really coming along. I was wondering if you considered putting everything (fridge, cabinets and washer/dryer) on the long wall, facing the window. Fridge where it is but facing the window, cabinets in the middle with shelving above, washer/dryer facing the window. Seems like that would give you more space to put...maybe some laundry baskets and a small waste basket or something, opposite of that, without them blocking anything.

The flooring colors are just gorgeous and I am so happy you chose white color for the cabinets and I was thinking a grey tone would have worked well against the white walls!! I think the cabinet beside the refrigerator could be moved over and just place it in the center!!! OR remove it completely and place nothing but floating shelves in that space!! Everything is looking great. I'd use the small draw pulls for the draws instead of knobs and use the knobs on the lower cabinets and larger draw pulls on upper cabinets by the fridge.

I love your white laundry room. My laundry room is white walls with white cabinets too. I wipe them down a few times a year. They don't get dirty like kitchen cabinets. I have a shower in my laundry room so I use the shower curtain and swag over the window for color. I also have white shelves and I painted the edge of the shelves with my color, apple green. My laundry room theme is tropical paradise. I also have one more area that I want to add three shelves. Your video motivates me to get it done.
