One thing you can check to see if that screen brightness will lower is the adjustment wheel by the headlight control. That small wheel adjusts the whole cars orange accents, dash, radio, hvac. Turn that wheel down and see if the radio also lowers in brightness.

im pretty sure thats what he tried, but i believe when he tried to adjust brightness and it didnt do anything from stereo itself, might be its how low it will go when u lower down ur interior lights with that knob ure talking about

Mine does do that and it does lower when you turn the headlights on by a good amount so it doesn't even need to dim with the potentiometer. Mine is an oem looking one tho, even has a module to connect to CAN so it makes sense that it does communicate with the car better and reacts well to it.

Hey bro! Noticed you have the trifecta lights! Also glad to hear you're doing well from surgery! replace your right rear abs sensor, and the speedo should work again, along with clearing the abs and brake lights too, sometimes you can get away with just cleaning it too

I had a 2000 323i e46 with a factory Harmon kardon system. It was a bitching setup. Make sure you get the subs those are what make the system.

@@baghbidi it's the same connector, although I don't recommend getting a high output hu with like 50 watts rms, because it ends up getting unused by the fact that the hu output wires get ran through the stock amplifier, which then limits the power to the stock output of the amplifier. I did a bypass on mines, it's way better in terms of getting future upgrades

I have the same radio, The only issue is that it freezes a lot. Keep a paper clip in your car somewhere so you can reset it when needed.

The hvac plugs are so hard to fucking unplug for some reason, also hurt my fingers badly and it took me a minute to unplug it. Then down the road my vents didn't work and I didn't understand why, took apart like half the dash, the glovebox and all to see if the flaps worked, they didn't, turn out one of the plugs on the hvac control unit was damaged from unplugging it because it's so damn hard. Btw for the same price as your universal double din + the adapter I got a unit that was plug and play and is a replica of the oem navigations unit you find on e46 except it's android and has carplay and android auto, looks fully oem and install was a breeze, radio reception is whack af tho dunno how yours is. I don't really like radio but I drive a lot so switching it up from my spotify playlist is still nice even tho I gotta suffer the retardation of radio people, ended up finding an app on my phone that works in Android Auto so I have radio in Android auto via phone data not FM bullshit. Even works with steering wheel controls, well my car doesn't have them but I know it does work when you have the controls. I don't have the hvac relocation thing tho, it's just stuffed in place of the sunglass tray thing and the gaps really aren't that noticeable and it looks fine tbh, and that's coming from a guy that's very detail oriented, like I'm so specific and nitpicky about things, which is the reason why I didn't go with a universal double din and really wanted the oem look, so if the gap doesn't bother me it probably won't bother most people. It's so nice having my waze alerting me of stuff on the road, cops, and having spotify playing my favourite music or podcasts, really I'm not lacking anything from a newer car and could not go back to a car that doesn't have it, whenever I change car, first mod is an android head unit.

Ok, now watching a bit more, it seems like you're new to this stuff, I recommend getting aftermarket speakers, 2 way or 3 way which ever it doesn't really matter. Your factory speakers are called a component setup due to the fact that the speakers in the door are separate. You have your woofer at the bottom, your mid speaker in center, and the tweeter in the sail panel. Now a 2 or 3 way speaker all of these are combined into one unit, which maximizes space, these all in one speakers are called coaxial speakers. Seeing that yours isn't a Harmon Kardon you don't have the optional rear subwoofer which consisted of 2 6x9 woofers. In car audio cars, the setup is different because most people set it up to be 3 way as described with 3 different speakers, but it's in a bigger setup, having 3 to ♾️ amounts of mids and sets of super tweters on the doors, and instead of a woofer on the door, they use subwoofers to replicate the low ends much more loudly and clearly in order to shake the block with clear audio
