Kudos to you for a great video. I browsed a lot of videos and yours showed my what I was looking for. The way you routed the cable down the column was the ticket to my successful install on a 2019 Jetta.

Hi there, i wanted to know how the obd2 constant power cable is working for you, i am looking to buy one, specially for the parking mode does it work for a civic 2015?

I have mine set only for 10 min but it does turn on when there is activity going on around the car. The app has different settings you can go through. I’ve used this only on VWs and it has worked well for me, never had an issue with the battery.

I used a Plozoc OBD 2 constant power cable on a 2019 Jetta. I set the Low Voltage protection on the Plozoc to L-11.6v and Parking Monitor to 10 minutes. Works like a charm.

Does the camera have power to it if it is connected to the cigarette lighter and turn off my car and park it in a garage?

@@newoldcar_ If I get the dash cam only, no OBD2 CPC, the dash cam will not function? Or is the OBD2 Constant Power Cable for recording all time even when you turn off your car, park, and walk away?

@ if you’re going to use the cigarette lighter and your car powers it all the time, then that will work. Parking mode only works if the camera has power to it all the time

@ I park my car in apartment garage. I need the camera to record if someone touches my car. Do I need the OBD2 Constant Power Cable?

I wish the Mini 2 had higher resolution.

The human eye cannot discern the difference between 720p and 1024p resolution, so I recommend setting resolution to 720p unless you are doing commercial or top shelf vids.

@@WaltHarvey-uf7jx You are misinformed. The Garmin Mini 2 has 1080p maximum resolution, not 1024p as you say. Second, I'm sorry your eyes can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. People with healthy eyes do not have that limitation. Third, the higher the resolution, the more details are captured in the videos. 2K resolution provides clearer details than 1080p. 4k resolution provides clearer details than 2K. Details such as license plate numbers. Remember, this is a dash cam. I wish the Mini 2 had higher resolution than 1080p.

I stand corrected. I have reset my resolution settings to 1080p. The pros of higher resolution recording more details are irrefutable. In the event of an incident, for example, a superior image would be invaluable for forensic investigation by police or other authorities. The discussion about the human eye’s ability to distinguish between 720p and 1080p has a long history. The distance to the screen and the size of the screen are important pieces in the puzzle. Arguably, the most significant puzzle piece is that people will have better or worse vision than others. Thank you.
