Installing the Quadratec Dead Pedal in my 2020 Jeep Gladiator
Fresh off backorder, the Quadratec Dead Pedal has arrived just in time! I was hoping to get this in before our next big cross-country trip as it gives me a much needed place to rest my foot when driving for hundreds and thousands of miles. On top of that, it gives me a solid surface to brace myself with when off-roading!
The installation is super quick and takes only minutes! It does require a few tools though so make sure you have a 13mm deep socket (must be a deep sock for the bolt through the firewall), a 10mm sock (or wrench), and a 5mm Allen key. I keep a set of standard and metric Allen keys in my Jeep so I always have the right size. Check it out and let me know if you're rocking a dead pedal or planning on getting one!

No need to remove that bolt. Slip the mount over the stud and get yourself the appropriately sized wing nut and tighten down.

Love the flexibility a wing nut offers; nice call! I use them for mounting my recovery boards to the bed rack.

Was there any play on the pedal since the plate was placed on top of the bolt without the M8 washers? I assume you positioned the lock washer on top of the pedal with the wing nut.

Super delayed reply but KZbin hasn't been notifying me of new comments. The pad is not worth it IMO. I don't have the pad and can't imagine it adding significantly more comfort than the pedal does on its own. As for the link, Quadratec's discount codes are temporarily on hold (to my knowledge) but you can usually catch it on one of their sales.

My jeep has a plastic cover so I can't get to the bolt at all. Do you think I should remove the cover?

I don’t remember having any issues with a plastic cover. You can always pop it off and take a look and see if the bolt is underneath it. If not, just pop the cover back on.

I dont think its a waste because I use the dead pedal in my other vehicles all the time and I hate that the Gladiator doesn't have one. It's nice for readjusting yourself in your seat on a long road trip.
