i think daddy is just as excited as son on this truck, i hope dad realizes the memories he is making for his son and the wealth of knowledge he is passing on. my dad taught me to change tires and do breaks and oil changes , every time something went wrong with my car he made me get out and be side by side with him to fix it he did not care i was his daughter he had 6 kids boys and girls and he taught us all. he passed at 59 yrs old, im 63 now and many times since he passed i have though about his lessons, and been glad to know i could do it if needed. great job on raising your son the right way.

When your changing the ujoints I always use a 9/16 socket and put it on the cap and drive them out. Just put something under it to hold it up so it will come all the way through and then you can just pull the cap off and remove it

Just for future reference in case you don’t know. When using a torque wrench make sure to back it off to zero when done. Leaving it loaded, I’ve been told, will take it out of calibration. Guys that have to have precise torque wrenches have to have theirs calibrated annually. And you never want to loosen bolts/nuts with one, that definitely ruins them!

Y’all are doin a good job on that rebuild. I learned to drive in an 82’ Chevrolet. I miss that old square body. Are y’all doing anything with the 1/2 ton frame after y’all finish the build?

A Ball joint press makes u joints a piece of cake. You can use it to press them in and out.

That rig gonna have dual fuel tanks?! That’s pretty cool. Edit: at around 12:00 mins it sounds like one of your mics is out of stereo, only hearing sound on one side. At 19:27 the sound goes back to normal

I’d take the drive shaft to the machine shop,one in stephenville specializes in shafts, might not be too bad of a price, had a single rear built for my truck and front rebuilt, was less the $1500 for both 🤷♂️

Will the driveshaft on the donor truck not work?
@jasonford8836 Жыл бұрын
It won’t work because it’s to long. They could take it and have it cut welded and rebalanced.

Jesus clips, are what they are called around these parts. If you don’t have a good hold on them and in the correct spot they will fly unpredictable in any direction.
@joethelen9897 Жыл бұрын
You can take the drive shaft to a driveshaft shop and have them build a new one instead of trying to find individual pieces or buy an assembled drive shaft for that truck
@mikebonge7206 Жыл бұрын

Howdy y’all. Chad Doss Farms sent me over. Now you are stuck with me. Haha. Yeah, y’all are new to me , but I am sure I will enjoy you and your family. Looking forward to seeing you young folks and all that you do. I am just an old lady. Chad Doss Farms mentioned you guys, so I thought I would check you out. Anyways I disagree with you. GOD gave that young man life, you were the sperm donor. A twinkle in your eyes.maybe some day I will tell you a story about my son and what happened Time to lay tbetween us at that time. Respectfully I write you. Well it’s almost day light and I just did a few dishes
