Friday Night Lights was a heckuva book -- and inspired a number of high school football players -- but that doesn't mean -- like some people have been posting -- that these Texas teams are great. So what if they produce players? By the way -- what is that list exactly at Permian? Roy Williams AND ... The cool think about the book was reading about how tough a clearly undersized, under-talented team fought to be better than they really were. And of course Booby -- and the harsh realities.

Believe me...alot. I live in odessa. im a sophmore. you cant even walk through the halls without touching 100+ people. And the stadium is Ratliff Stadium

Holy shit! How many students go to those schools? Must be a lot since the stadium is huge and they have one of those stadium tvs (sorry forgot what the technical term is).

As much as I hate the guy's name above you, he's got a point. Now I'm not saying that my school can beat Trinity, or even these two schools, hell we finished with a 2-7 record, but there are plenty of other schools that can beat teams from west Texas.

But for the most part teams from many states are better than these two in this tape. And my point is that every year there are different states with different teams that can beat each other regardless of collegiate players produced. I've seen teams from Pennsylvania that could beat Florida teams, Ohio beat Texas and visa versa, Iowa beat California, or Arizona that can beat Illinois teams ... whatever. It always changes. There is talent every year that is as good or better than West Texas.

All I'm saying is a big crowd with nothing else to do and college level facilities doesn't mean your teams are great. Both these teams look weak.
