The worst part is you have to show up at a Federal magistrate, not a local magistrate. Depending on the location, you might need to travel a long distance if you are "objecting" to the ticket. Of course, you might be able to just pay the ticket, but the fine is not cheap.

BTW at 6:45 the passing the school bus video is legal ... that guy should not have been chased by the cop on a bike. Law states that if there are 4 or more lanes you do not have to stop from the opposite direction. Reason is that if it's a bust 2 lane road or there are 4 or more lanes it is illegal for a school bus to drop off kids that live on the opposite side of the road. They are by law to turn around somewhere safe and come back to drop the kids off that live on the opposite side of the road.

For tourists driving in Yosemite National Park, those Rangers have lightbar mounted radar. They can radar you while you towards each other and they can radar you driving up behind them. CHP can do the same thing.

@Placeholder seems everyone is hung up that it is ok to drive 80 and 100 and weave in and out of traffic and everyone is just supposed to get out of the way. If you are driving the speed limit you have just as much right to be in the left lane if you are passing someone slower. I think if your caught going 5 mph over the posted speed limit you should lose your license and if your caught at 10 or more mph over the speed limit they should impound your car. I drive in the right lane all the time unless I am passing someone then right back to the right lane.

Most of these are people doing like 70-80, which is nothing, this isn't 1950, cars can go 80 just fine but everyone wants to get excited. When there is a four lane road, the on coming traffic doesn’t have to stop. Just the side the bus is on, on roads like that, the bus doesn’t drop off children and have them walk across three lanes of traffic. The rule, safety measure, law etc… only applies to, two lane roads, not four.

You do not want to get pulled over in Yosemite. The rangers there broker no BS and usually chew violators out real good before giving them a very expensive ticket. Deer and bears cross the roads at all times day and night and if you hit one, it's even worse. I grew up in Yosemite. It used to be an incredible place.
