If this was in medieval times, each archer would have two bows with an assistant reloading them. It would be incredible.
@BlunderMunchkin3 жыл бұрын
Or instead of an archer and an assistant with this, you could have two archers with regular bows.
@richlee37773 жыл бұрын
@@BlunderMunchkin Medieval archers were highly trained professionals who required valuable equipment. Peasant boys were cheap.
@MrVeps13 жыл бұрын
@@richlee3777 Well, an English archer was highly trained, but more in the sense of "made to practise for a couple hours after church each sunday", which was much more than the usual peasant levy. Also, bows aren't hugely complicated to make, they are just sort of a lost art. Of course, if you had loads of spare peasants that could assist the archers, something like that would be possible. The question is whether or not said peasant would be more use in front of the archers, discouraging cavalry charges with a long and pointy stick.
@tohaason2 жыл бұрын
They did use loading assistants for crossbows, so obviously yes that's what you would do (in the same circumstances, e.g. from a shielded position). And it would be much faster than using two archers. Much faster.

Lily you may have already tried this method, but in case you haven't try using the hand on the bow's riser to push it away from your body while simultaneously pulling the string back. Imagine holding a small loop of rope and you are trying to pull it apart and break it. Instead of holding the bow out and using one shoulder and arm to draw it you are using both shoulders and both arms to draw the bow. I was a part-time archery instructor in my early twenties, and that method helped quite a few small women and teens draw a bow that would have otherwise been too heavy for them.
@gearavien27844 жыл бұрын
it's still one of the coolest thing Joerg invented
@SebasTian-od7oz4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lilly. There is a simple technique I learned in bow school to improve your strength when drawing: Lift your elbow high above your ear when drawing. Try to really "overdo" it on purpose. It sounds un-intuitive but trust me, once you "felt" it you probably won't go back. I guess it has something to do with your muscle structure and that this is such an unnatural movement (which you normally never do) that your brain didn't know that your body can utilize it's muscles slightly more efficiently in that strange pose.
@Temporalplace3 жыл бұрын
12:17 No, you do not want to have this bow in apocalypse. It is too heavy and if it breaks you won't be able to repair it. For apocalypse you want simplicity

@xr7fan it’s certainly useful it turns an inexperienced archer into a competent if not expert quickly And if you don’t think it’s cool then that’s your opinion to have but almost everyone disagrees with you
@keepermovin59064 жыл бұрын
@xr7fan you were reading too fast friend, I said ALMOST everyone and if you look at the comments and like to dislike ratio of the slingshot channels video you will see that I am correct in this claim. Furthermore the claim that it will make you more accurate is also true as the trigger ensures a clean release of the bow string every time and the ability to mount an scope or just aiming down a sight will increase accuracy tremendously. I do not claim that no practice is required to use this device but a novice bowman would become far more effective while using it hence the name instant Legolas. Even if it did not make you more accurate shooting at a rate of one arrow every couple of seconds would more than make up for the lack of accuracy within a reasonable distance of the target.
@keepermovin59064 жыл бұрын
Also it has just come to my attention that this can have a laser sight and if that doesn’t improve accuracy nothing will

On the latest version he added an elastic band to the magazine so that you have to put some force into it when you push it forward but then it helps you draw it when you pull it back. There's also a little grip that attaches to the magazine so that you can hold the whole thing drawn with your bow hand which is pretty nifty. The guy really is a great inventor.

Thanks, for showing us how a novice would open, assemble, adjust pull-strength, and practice some shots. An adjustable monopod, or some other "holding device" would help with the weight. P.S. Dump the big red dot and put a 1.5 ounce reflex sight on and that will lighten the bow by several ounces. Every little bit helps when you find weight is an issue when held at arms length. Be sure the reflex sight has a compatable mount. Neat gear. Is laser green? Easier to see spot on target in daylight though not on green leaves or tree needles

Reminds me of that scene in The 13th Warrior; Protagonist; "I cannot wield this! [ _referring to a heavy sword, he has been given_ ] Viking [ _with a huge smile_ ]; "Grow stronger!" :)
