@MrVeps1
@MrVeps1 3 жыл бұрын
@@richlee3777 Well, an English archer was highly trained, but more in the sense of "made to practise for a couple hours after church each sunday", which was much more than the usual peasant levy. Also, bows aren't hugely complicated to make, they are just sort of a lost art. Of course, if you had loads of spare peasants that could assist the archers, something like that would be possible. The question is whether or not said peasant would be more use in front of the archers, discouraging cavalry charges with a long and pointy stick.
@tohaason
@tohaason 2 жыл бұрын
They did use loading assistants for crossbows, so obviously yes that's what you would do (in the same circumstances, e.g. from a shielded position). And it would be much faster than using two archers. Much faster.

@keepermovin5906
@keepermovin5906 3 жыл бұрын
@xr7fan you were reading too fast friend, I said ALMOST everyone and if you look at the comments and like to dislike ratio of the slingshot channels video you will see that I am correct in this claim. Furthermore the claim that it will make you more accurate is also true as the trigger ensures a clean release of the bow string every time and the ability to mount an scope or just aiming down a sight will increase accuracy tremendously. I do not claim that no practice is required to use this device but a novice bowman would become far more effective while using it hence the name instant Legolas. Even if it did not make you more accurate shooting at a rate of one arrow every couple of seconds would more than make up for the lack of accuracy within a reasonable distance of the target.

Lily you may have already tried this method, but in case you haven't try using the hand on the bow's riser to push it away from your body while simultaneously pulling the string back. Imagine holding a small loop of rope and you are trying to pull it apart and break it. Instead of holding the bow out and using one shoulder and arm to draw it you are using both shoulders and both arms to draw the bow. I was a part-time archery instructor in my early twenties, and that method helped quite a few small women and teens draw a bow that would have otherwise been too heavy for them.

At federal level a lot of countries in Germany allow bow hunting after dedicated training. (e.g. Brandenburg) Only BaWü has strict rule via JWMG, which includes the birds and the bees,... via §31. Hi Lilly. There is a simple technique I learned in bow school to improve your strength when drawing: Lift your elbow high above your ear when drawing. Try to really "overdo" it on purpose. It sounds un-intuitive but trust me, once you "felt" it you probably won't go back. I guess it has something to do with your muscle structure and that this is such an unnatural movement (which you normally never do) that your brain didn't know that your body can utilize it's muscles slightly more efficiently in that strange pose.

On the latest version he added an elastic band to the magazine so that you have to put some force into it when you push it forward but then it helps you draw it when you pull it back. There's also a little grip that attaches to the magazine so that you can hold the whole thing drawn with your bow hand which is pretty nifty. The guy really is a great inventor.

When moving limb bolts its a good idea to mark them with a paint pen with a line on the bolt and limb so you know their exact positions. What you called two turns looked to be closer to two and a quarter turns.

Tod of tods workshop did some really cool videos trying to make a medieval version. He didn't think it'd replace traditional bows but it could have very useful in certain situations definitely. Like defensive situations particularly

Fantastic video. You are a real pistol!!! The repeating bow design and manufacture is remarkable and fortunate for the manufacturer they sent this bow to you for an introduction since we males somehow take great pride in never reading or following directions!!! It must be the testosterone load but sane, bright people read and follow directions and bingo, it works every time! Many thanks for another terrific video.

Pleasantly surprised to see your video as a recommended vid. Joerg is awesome btw & he must think a lot of you & your channel, so I'm definitely interested in watching & learning what I can from you also. As you become used to that resistance, gradually increase it, so your strength will also. I enjoyed the video, thanks.

Excellent vid Lilly. You looked so delighted shooting the bow, once you adjusted it to your liking. I think I may invest as guns are not widely available here in UK. Wishing you a peaceful and happy Yuletide. As always. Greetings from Liverpool. ✌️🐝. 🏹

VERY COOL, WOW!!!)))) 😁😁😁😁. Can you know draw a 80lb compound bow? I believe you can grow stronger when you use it MORE. Also, I wish that item could fold parallel to the compound bow.

Hi Lilly, just a thought I wanted to share with you, but do run it by with JoergSprave, on the adjustment threads of the screws put a drip of loctite to hold it fixed, I've had to do this my self on sights fixed and lazer, not everyone has tools in the field or moots when hunting. another thought on the loctite they are the permanent fixed which I would not suggest but get the one that secures but can be loosened if need too adjust. But, this is a cool looking bow, I have never seen anything like it. Happy hunting.

Small advice on adjusting the settings. Use a colored pen mark your turns on the set screws.

Very nice review. You may find it easier to shoot if you use your back more to get past the let-off. Basically, when you are getting near the peak force, lock your arms and squeeze your shoulder blades together. The "rhomboid" muscle is what you want to use through the peak force.
