I asked instant pot about the bar pressure on one of their videos. They responded that it uses 20 bars of pressure for the nespresso pods.

generally on home espresso machine packaing (in order to sell better) they mention 19 bars or 16 bars, etc. But all have a pressure reduction valve [I guess it's called a 'valve' ] to bring down the pressure to around 9 bars

Yes!!!!if you just touch it once and walk away coffee should be made when your back lol I love it for kpods bought it for nesspresso but haven't been able to find the nespresso pods in a store near me may have to buy them offline..I'm nervous cause I think they are different size pods and this machine takes the small ones???is that wrong?

@5:45 Crema is formed (extracted from coffee) when hot water is pushed through the coffee with 'high pressure' ... key difference is the high pressure ... I think 6 bars of pressure and up produces the crema ... commercial espresso machines are set around 10, 11 bars ... home espresso machines are told to produce 9 bars of pressure. Does the taste change, absolutely, use the same ground coffee in a moka-pot [lower pressure, no crema] and in a home espresso machine you'll experience two totally different tastes comes out [in case of Lavazza Crema e Gusto series both produce wonderful but noticeably different tastes.

I bought this coffee maker when it first came out about a month ago, I compared it to my Keurig 575, and I found it to be not only less hot, but less flavor, its coffee tasted a bit watery, but the Nespresso side I loved it, I can't say if an original nespresso would have been better but it taste delicious, but I use K-Cups far more often and the fact it was so watery I couldn't accept that so I returned it.. but otherwise this was a genius idea of Instant Pod to combine 2 of the most popular machines.. I also wish they would have made a K-Carafe option too

You can actually get generic pods for Nespresso makers on Amazon. There's a brand called L'orr that makes some really good pods that taste very similar to the Nespresso branded ones that are half the price. I've also seen the a reusable Nespresso pod filter that you can put your own coffee in but haven't tried it myself

Because you give a quick what I want to know video with a little humor I decided to give you a follow. Thank you for that! I’m trying to decide between this machine, a nespresso vertuo, a seven and me, or a Breville (I have no idea wether the bambino or other model). There are so many options and my ocd wants convenience, good price, good quality, a good cup, but mostly to make the best educated decision and not wishing I’d gotten a different machine in the end. I’ve had a regular coffee pot and I’m just not a fan anymore. I had a big nice Keurig for 5 years. To me it’s not much different than a regular coffee pot except having a one cup convenience. I prefer cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, & frappes. Every time I think I’ve decided on a machine I change my mind. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I almost purchased a Nespresso vertuo but the cost of those pods is so expensive. However, I don’t drink but one or two cups per day at most. I’m intimidated by the Breville because it’s so manual. I like convenience. I’m wondering if you have tried the seven and me? It’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye. And brews all the options I love. I’d love to see you review it!

Bizarre they didn't match Nespresso specs for original line pods. Spec for Nespresso espresso = 40ml or 1.35 ounces. Thanks for the review.

I watched your review because I love my Instant Pot and wanted to see what the Instant Pod was like. I already have a Keurig that a friend of mine gave me because he had two and it does what I need it to do for coffee. I don't drink espresso so I can't really justify the added expense of getting the Instant Pod. But if you don't already have a coffee "system" (does anyone have coffee pots anymore?) then this one does seem to give you a fast cup of Joe or espresso. The one gallon reservoir is HUGE! And for those of you that use a lot of K-cup and damn the expense or those of you that don't use a lot of K-cups because of the expense I have one word for you...ALDI! When our ALDI opened it had a coffee section and they carried three different K-cups (Columbian, French Vanilla, and something else). Now there's at least seven different types included flavored coffees. A pack of twelve K-cups goes for about $4, that's about 33 cents per cup...which I consider to be a very reasonable price. I haven't bought a refillable K-cup yet because that seems like a lot more work for a cup of coffee, but maybe one day... Loved your review! Looked at your other videos and you have lots of Instant Pot stuff and Keto...so SUBSCRIBED! I used to be on Keto until the beginning of this year and I try and keep my carbs low even though I'm not strictly Keto any more. However, I can say that being on Keto for about a year did get rid of my sweet tooth. I can now walk down the sweets aisle and I have no urge to pick up candy because I'm craving it. I do occasionally pick up some sweet or biscuits from the International Aisle because every now and then I need some Jelly Babies or Hobnobs out of nostalgia (okay and some licorice allsorts and pastilles). And if I do go for chocolate it's usually dark because I just don't crave the sweetness like I used...but I digress! Great video, looking forward to watching more!

OMG you WENT there w/ the whole mashing the buttons bit...lol Gimme my old fashion stove top percolated 100% Arabica beans medium roast coffee. I have 2 stove top percolators, one is a 6 cup Pyrex perc from 1971 and still works, and I also have a 8 cup Paula Dean enameled perc which we use daily. Granted to make perc'd coffee the water has to come up to boiling, I have to time it just right so it won't run over, then turn the heat down to simmer for 20 minutes and I have the best cup of coffee ever. I pour the hot coffee in an insulated carafe which 9 hours later I can pour me a cup of coffee and despite not being hot hot coffee, it's warm enough to drink but yet not overly strong/burnt like it would be if it were a glass carafe on a drip coffee maker.

This uses the original line nespresso capsules. It works by pressure. The vertuoline is the one that spins the pods- these won’t work in the InstantPod

I bought a instant pod based on this review but there is a mistake in this review. In the instruction manual if you are just turning the machine on your are supposed to do one cycle of water in your preferred cup size to warm the machine up, the warm water will be about 165F. Then you throw out the warm water and run your coffee cycle you will get a temperature of about 180F. Although this is ok it's still below the optimum temperature for coffee which is 195F to 205F for the best brewing flavour. But this temperature of 180F meets up with the manufacturer's specifications.

Instant Pot told me (via email) it produces 20 bars of pressure on the Nespresso side of the machine. I did not inquire about the K-Cup side, as that was less of a concern for me. YMMV

I bought an InstantPod Pod and took it back because the buttons didn't work so I got another one and the same problem. After trial & error and a ton of frustration, I accidentally found that you don't press the buttons on top. I was so upset I went through taking it back for no reason. I wish I would have found your video 2 weeks ago.

Has anyone had any issues with the K-cup holder having a really strong plastic chemical smell that leaches to the coffee?? Anytime brewing coffee it has a chemical taste that is coming off the k-cup holder for this brewer.
