Cristina, I made your recipe last night, minus the chile de árbol as my husband is the only one that eats picante. I cut it in half because I only 2 lbs of pork shoulder. I also used chicken broth instead of water and added two chile anchos plus the 8 guajillos. This was my first time and I was nervous it would not live up to what my family is used to eating from our local restaurant. Well, I got the thumbs up. THANK YOU. I look forward to seeing more InstantPot recipes.

I'm definitely going to try this because I'm tired of spending 3 hours on posole 🤣. I just got my instant pot and all I've been watching are recipes, I tried your birria recipe with it on Saturday and it came out delicious! Can you try tamales in the instant pot? I've only found one video on that so far and I believe it took her like 17 minutes.

Areh Lee I’m so glad you liked the birria! I have been thinking about making tamales in the instant pot. I’m hoping to do that soon.

Looks amazing I definitely want to try Posole in my instant pot. Have you tried the same method with chicken posole too? I love them both ways.
@TheOutdoorsyMama5 жыл бұрын
Laura Sandoval I’ve never made pozole with chicken. But if you make it with chicken in the instant pot cook it for 25 or 30 minutes instead of the 50.

Oh really thanks for the time difference. I'll have to try your chili I usually use new mexico chili thanks

Hi Norma I am new to your channel. I just bought my 8qt instant pot today and will be making this pozole this weekend. Thank you so much for this detailed instructions. Another question I love your containers were you have your chiles. Can I ask where you bought them☺️.
@TheOutdoorsyMama4 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria! Yes, I got them at target and Home Goods. I think they’re the OXO brand.

The recipe looks awesome! It seems to me like one would wait to add the maíz after the meat cooks. Is the maís a bit mushy after that 50 min cook time?
@TheOutdoorsyMama4 жыл бұрын
Marina Espinoza you would think they do but they are not mushy. The maíz retains its structure

Yummy! What size is your instant pot?I have a 6qt don't know if I can use the same amounts
@TheOutdoorsyMama4 жыл бұрын
Mine is an 8 quart. I would portion the amounts to be 2/3 of what I use. So if I use 6lbs of meat, you should use 4 lbs of meat and so on and so forth.
@marianalopez31324 жыл бұрын
@@TheOutdoorsyMama thank you I will try it out with less meat 😊💓

How do you not cough a ton when you cook the chiles?! 🤯
@TheOutdoorsyMama5 жыл бұрын
Ana Flores 😆 I do cough sometimes, specially if the peppers are really spicy.
@stephaniejauregui64394 жыл бұрын
Chili arbol are a bit spicy no? My husband doesn't like too much spice. Would another chili be a good alternative?
@TheOutdoorsyMama4 жыл бұрын
Yes they are. I wouldn’t add them at all if you don’t want much spice.

Excuse my ignorance, is an instant pot the same as a pressure cooker?
@TheOutdoorsyMama4 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Jauregui yes the instant pot is an electric pressure cooker.
