I watched this video on early access last night and couldn't stop thinking of those ribs! So, I went out and bought some ribs and followed Mandy's great recipe and boy were they good! I ate over half the rack of ribs myself. The only down side was that I spent the next few hours on the couch in a meat coma! :-) Thanks Mandy. Great as usual!

WONDERFUL! No Instant Pot, so used a 6 quart Presto Pressure Cooker. For a 3 pound Baby Back, I cooked for 30 minutes at 15 pounds pressure. No Green Onions so I used 1/2 chopped Spanish Onion. No dried Tangerine so I used the entire skin of a small fresh Tangerine. Had an overripe Fuya Persimmon on counter, so threw that in also. Don't eliminate dried pepper - it is important to the overall flavor. Used 2 dried Chili Peppers instead of 3 to keep heat down. My wife normally hates ribs because of the bones and sticky nature. Just pushed bones out of her serving so she could eat with a knife and fork. Also hates Chili heat - said these were wonderful. Let ribs cool completely for easier handling, brushed with sauce and finished on gas BBQ for 10-15 minutes until rewarmed and crispy. Recipe marked "MAKE AGAIN". Thanks Mandy

You have been so inspirational to me in learning how to cook Asian cuisine, your videos are very informative, not just recipes, plus you show different results that can occur. This helps people see what mistake they may have made and how to correct it or how to avoid it as well. You are a great teacher. Your recipes are fantastic, better than going to the restaurant, and a lot cheaper. Now you have begun a product line, this is great news. I can't wait to finally get a real wok from you, I had a wok in the past but it was cheaply made (aluminum) and didn't last. You have the most beautiful personality and pleasant speaking voice. You are beautiful as well. I easily fell in love with you the first time I saw you on here. Thank you again for all your work in putting together your videos, the effort has made a lot of us better cooks and better people overall. I wish you the same happiness and joy you have given me. Good luck with the new product line, can't wait to see what's next.

Also, I would definitely buy meat cleavers from you if you sold them. I made this dish a few nights back. Followed the directions exactly. This was AWESOME! I’m so impressed! The ribs really do taste like they were slow cooked and the sauce is just divine. I’m going to make this again for sure. Served with a sweet potato rice and an Asian cucumber salad. So good! Thanks Mandy. By the way I love my new Wok I purchased from you. Top notch quality.

Those piggies look delicious, Mandy! Thank you. I've been cooking with a pressure cooker ... oops! ... er ... insta-pot ... for many years now, and curiously, putting water under pressure turns it into a solvent, so it literally dissolves the sinew, which is why even four days in a crock pot won't get you the kind of tender that a pressure cooker will. I can't wait to try it out. Keep it up!

If you want a fall-off-bones kind of tender for the ribs but don't really want the meat to literally fall off the bones - most esp if you use Intant Pot - don't peel that thin membrane on the bone side. You may just run your knife and make a few scores on that membrane like on that nice ribs Mandy bought for this vid which seem to have been pre-scored already by the store - 0:40. Thanks, Mandy for this recipe.

I partially cook the ribs in the instant pot then brush with sauce and place in the oven for 30-45 minutes. If you don't have a pressure cooker boil the ribs in water with some mustard and a bit of vinegar. They will be super flavorful and moist, then put in the oven to brown and the bbq sauce glaze sets up nicely.

@SoupedUpRecipes5 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for watching and purchasing the wok. I just want to tell you that when you cook starchy ingredients like noodles, fried rice in the wok, it will stick to the bottom of the wok a little no matter how well you season it. It is a carbon steel wok, not a Teflon coated wok so that is normal.
@rosebunnylove5 жыл бұрын
@@SoupedUpRecipes Thank you for replying! 😁 It wasn't anything horrible in terms of sticking. Hot water and a very gentle scrub got it all.

Souped Up Recipes - Love Spareribs- even better Chinese style! However, I don’t have an Instapot, can one still make this recipe in a wok? I bought one of your woks recently, still need to go get some Flaxseed oil to season it well. Also, the wooden lid that came with the wok, had a little piece on top of wooden lid that broke, it’s still attached. Should I just pull it off and still use it?
@SoupedUpRecipes5 жыл бұрын
Sorry that the wooden lid has problems. Usually, if you push it in, it should wok. If not, I can send you a replacement. You just got your wok. I will suggest you to use the wok for a while first, then make some soupy recipes in it. Because soupy recipe can dimishe the seasoning. The only change for cooking it in a regular pot or wok is to use more water to simmer the ribs until tender.
@gladysbrown84495 жыл бұрын
Souped Up Recipes - thank you! The closer I inspected the wooden lid, I determined its superficial and won’t affect the use of the wooden lid. No need to have a replacement at all. I appreciate your answer! Yes, I shall definitely be seasoning it and use it very soon!!
