My wife isn't from the spicy lovers. One of my kids uses Sriracha for toothpaste. I've been eyeing the jar of chili oil for weeks, but haven't had the guts to go for it, much less use it. The soup looks great! I like how you overdosed on the green onions. I would do a variety of mushrooms rather than just the shitake. And I think spinach is great for greening up a Thai green chili dish. I'm going with baby bok choy, it actually has a flavor. As always, thanks for the inspiration!
@davidh98442 жыл бұрын
Not that I didn't trust you, but I made a trial half batch, no bamboo in the house, bok choy rather than spinach, and chicken broth rather than vegetable for the base. As I said, you are your typical inspiration. A suggestion, for a laugh. You publish your successes. How about a few instantpot catastrophes? We all have them, some are spectacular like my sister-in-law's microwaved spaghetti squash (yes, it blew open the door with great moment and drama). I'm sure you've got one or two to share that will prove to the rest of us that you really are human. All the best from Marietta, GA. Dr H

This was excellent!! Not a stretch when I say it's the best Asian recipe I've made at home. I could have been served this in a restaurant, and be very happy!!! I was concerned the dumplings would be overcooked, but they turned out perfectly!! We followed the recipe without ant changes, but with chicken stock!

Made this last night for supper. Awesome flavor. Left out the last 1/4 cup of chili oil but added the 1/3 cup chili garlic sauce and it was PLENTY spicy hot. Definitely clears the sinuses lol. I will be making this again.

I finally got around to making this!!! Shut the FRONT DOOR! This soup is AMAZING!! 🥵 I love spicy 🌶️ but this is my little tweaks: I didn’t have the ginger paste looked in the freezer for fresh to no avail, I did find a packet of soy ginger paste from some other pkg and used that. I didn’t have black sesame seeds but a few sprinkles of TJ Black Garlic for the color. Also, for the additional hot chili oil, I only use 2 tablespoons instead of a quarter cup. Too me it’s perfect! Spicy but not too spicy! It’s also neighbor approved! 😉 he called it dynomite 😊 He’s 79. I absolutely love your recipes. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤ Will definitely purchase your cookbooks! 😘(sniff, sniff, nose is draining lol)
