The way everyone is talking you would think Mikhey was a bad player, lol. He is a really good player who just ran out of gas in his recovery year. I guarantee he will be back to normal next year at least, but i predict he will have a career year. Not a mistake for either team. This trade helps both teams. It didn't work out for Mikhey in Vancouver but the way people are treating him you would think he was the worst player ever on the worst contract ever. Sometimes just luck taints the experience for a player in a certain environment. Hopefully they can get Big Z signed for a reasonable contract. In my view there are a lot of players come July 1 without a contract and their expectations are about to be dashed. On the other hand guys like Guenzel will get way over paid as is the tradition of the July 1 spending extravaganza.

Unfortunately he came in injured and never quite healed. Like OEL, Dickenson, Lindholm. Buyers beware when picking up damaged goods. As hockey goes Vancouvers window is now. And if he can't produce he should be gone. I myself thought he would help us if his injury could be fully healed.. In the end it was mostly confidence.

Yeah, how is it considered a misfire for Alvin? Like him getting injured could have been foreseen. Being docked points for not predicting the future.

I really think his recovery took a toll on him. There was a cry for him to produce and I think it got to him. I agree with you that he is not that bad of a player and ended up losing some confidence. Bad things snow balled. Vancouvers fan base has become more volitile than in the past. Can be a pressure cooker even in Van. And you could be right on him having a career year.

Johnson is wrong about the late first round picks. look at the 2nd round and see how many great players were drafted in round 2. so bottom 1st round has even more top players. some of the best went 24 and below. easy to see this if you want to find the info which I have. go look for yourself

First time I've felt okay with them letting Zadorov go. I've felt all along that they would get him, but near the end of the video, when S&P and PJ all agree Zadorov is gone it made me realize that they're probably right and it's okay because this management group has proven they're smart enough to know what the acceptable price point for Z is. I'm not used to management restraining themselves like this. But I would still make the bet that Z will come down and take the Canucks' offer.

$14.5M left and curious thoughts about a Demko trade for more cap space, picks and prospects. This would leave them with enough for Guentzel, Zadorov, Tanev and a depth move perhaps. Would they gamble on Silovs and DeSmith with that team in front of the goal crease?

@@Mr.DudeLebowski Not a suggestion on my part....just hearing chatter that Vancouver may make a radical change in direction with goalkeeping. I don't think it would actually happen but one could only speculate why bringing back DeSmith would even make sense (he should find work as an NHL backup and Silovs should be in the NHL)

That's a firm "No Thanks" from me. Take Edmonton for example: It pains me to say this, but they had a GREAT team this year. If only they had a top notch goalie, they'd have breezed their way to the Stanley Cup. I'm not ready to give up on Demko yet.

If we had a healthier Demko and Boeser didn't have his clot shot issues we would have beat Edmonton and then obviously won it all since we would have done better than Edmontons attempt against Florida. Be proud of what they did given some bs injuries but shit happens.
