I would say a casual list doesn't have the fast mana and probably doesn't get to do the thing until turn4 or 5 becuase you've got to set up discard outlets and the mana to pay the three then cast the goofy stuff. The difference is people are gonna have plenty of time to probably hold up removal once it's cast.
@1krani3 күн бұрын
Any casual list for this commander must include "One With Nothing". The meme-ness compels us.
@commanderpower992 күн бұрын
I don't think this commander can be watered down to casual. It's very strong.
@1krani2 күн бұрын
@@commanderpower99 It can be, if you don't use Moxes and all kinds of other $100 cards to ramp fast. 3 mana per summon is quite a bit when you don't have green or $5000 to buy this particular decklist.

A very SWEET interaction is that you can win with a Angels Grace on the stack with the Commander, so that Split Second grants you protection against other players interaction, you can remove your library with Tainted Pact card or Leveler and do that with Lions Eye (its a mana ability).
@SDTCG3 күн бұрын
It only works with Leveler if you want to win on the stack. You'd have to resolve Pact first before casting Angel's Grace.
@ThisNameIsBanned3 күн бұрын
@@SDTCG Well you cast Pact, they dont know if you have Thoracle in hand or Lions Eye, you could just cast it to get anything else. Its an usual play-pattern as people would rather cast it after Thoracle is in play, so if a Pact is cast it probably resolves. However, if you have this as your Commander it might just be correct to counter the Pact as well, as there is that danger that they just win after it. But EoT Pact and leave 1 card in your library might be a great way to force interaction, as on your turn, you would protect it.
@leero90322 күн бұрын
you can respond to lion's eye diamond even if its a mana ability, special ruling
@ThisNameIsBanned2 күн бұрын
@@leero9032 No you cannot. Its still a mana ability, so it doesnt go on the stack at all. LED only has a "timing restriction" with instant speed, thats so you cannot put a spell on the stack and cast it with the LED mana (and thats the only reason it has that restriction). Just look at the ruling on gatherer or scryfall.
@ThisNameIsBanned2 күн бұрын
@@leero9032 The reason its a mana ability also means you discard the cards and get the 3 mana immediately, so you can get a token of a card you discard with it. That would not work if the ability would go on the stack, as the token making ability would go over the mana you get, but thanks to mana abilities not using the stack, we can do it here.

If you want some real jank, play Esper legends with Ratadrabik and token doublers. You can do everything from having seven Toxrills in play, completely locking the game with multiple Sen Triplets, and, my personal favorite, sculpting a new seven each turn with Sidisi.😊
@logandavidson27113 күн бұрын
I have a ratadrabik deck, I think he's really underrated for cdeh. With some of the lord of the rings cards you're able to infinitely sac with just him and one other card, winning the game with a payoff draining your opponents. Some of the tutors that throw cards into your GY can give you every piece, letting you win if the tutor resolves. Only down side is mana curve, and Orzhov, you're a turn behind curve-wise, and you need to play a lot of protection to compete with blue

Calls for easy interaction and serup. This is care for card massive value the turn each card enters is the point of the deck at instant speed.

He's caused cards like tortured existence to shoot up in price. I'm glad I bought mine at around $5. I was going to buy the precon and swap him or the face commander, but I decided building him from scratch is better. The deck doesn't really support him, and he's not really zombie tribal.

They powercrept my boy Oskar. Still believe Oskar is better at Doomsday piles, ramping black with a ton of Swamps, Crypt Ghast, Magus of the Coffers and Cabal Coffers / Stronghold and paying some big X in Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire to win, but this things cheats things with a mana ability, making him extremely hard to interact with.

Curious as to why you're not on Tainted Pact? Your mana base certainly supports it but my guess is that you like the solid mana base that's tainted-ready even when you've chosen to make some space for some of the bigger butts on the deck for example?

Its not a CEDH monster. There is too much christmas land with Hasaton. He is a viable CEDH commander, but is akward while playing. Tivit is not A+B. as you need a discard, a reanimate, and suddenly you need 4 pieces for the comabo.
@dimitriid10 сағат бұрын
Been goldfishing it and I think you're right: If we still had Crypt and JLo for example this could accelerate a bit but as it stands, 2+U mana to create a copy on discard is quite a bit of mana so I had to use a rather large density of rocks *and* turns just ramping and specially if you want to do the 'fully protected' combo: It's almost unbeatable yes but you need: 1) Hashaton alive: I'm sure he'll attract sufficient hate to not be a given 2) A discard outlet 3) A Split Second card 4) 6 Mana with UU as a part of it to activate 5) Thassa and Leveler So that's seven mana and having 3 pieces in hand (Leveler, Thassa and the Split Second card) at least plus Hashaton ready and interaction to keep him ready. That just not going to happen very often even with aggressive mulligans and unlike Rog/Si strategies, simply doing Ad Naus or Necropotence will get you the cards but probably not the mana too. In other words you're either doing the same kind of fast-but-vulnerable wins of Thassa's Consultation attempts or waiting it out for later. Realistically, you're just looking at a decent Esper midrange deck, nothing wrong with it but nothing spectacular most games you'll have better chances with a mulligan for a draw engine and some interaction and then pick a lane later on when you get a chance i.e. With a big stack Oppo-Agent someone's to tutor a wincon while using the surprise instant-speed unusual things like leveler.

Dude, how could you make a list for this commander and NOT include the ultimate meme-include, "One With Nothing"? This is one of the few commanders where paying 1 to discard your whole hand at instant speed means, "Suddenly, Eldrazi".
@ThisNameIsBanned3 күн бұрын
With new Commanders the potential ways to build the deck are vast. This guy especially, you can go any way, and it all still seems pretty good. Till we really get it down to the bread and butter numbers , then the "perfect" list is objectively the best, that might take quite a while.
