That wire grabber puller thingy is very handy. I was going to say "more power to you brother" ... but that was the point of this video 😁👍👍

I see what you did there… The grabber device has saved my butt a few times.

It is easy not be scared with as little as I have invested in it. I couldn’t imagine if I had paid full price for the Spyder. Thank you for watching and the comment!

I just purchased a spyder 2014 I want to install a CarPlay but installing it myself 🤔 I might have to just do it.
@Y-DER6 ай бұрын
@@duranmona It really wasn't that bad all said and done. The worst part was getting the power to it. The ball mount for the unit I found on Amazon made attaching it a breeze. The update video shows a different way to route the power.
good video well done. so much better toenjoy with the music tred down👍

Ohh man there is nothing better than a clean install! I have the same dilemma with my F3T but i dint have any knockouts near the bars for an install like this and i can’t stand a cluttered handlebar. I wound up drilling a hole in the glovebox up top and fishing a USB cable to the bars and ran it parallel to the factory wires and velcro wrapped it in place if i need it. It does work but i sometimes get usb malfunction messages on the dash which sucks. The new bolts definitely tidy things up but buddy please take them out and put some blue thread lock on better safe than sorry. I think this video is in first place for least amount of plastic removed so far for you. Good idea using the accessory circuit no fuses and switched power so glad BRP includes them on all the trikes. Looking forward to that carplay install as I’m on the fence between nothing , carplay adapter or getting a new F3 . You might be the deciding factor between 200 bucks or 27,000 bucks.

I just filmed the CarPlay episode. It came early and I’m thinking sales of 2024’s may suffer after this one… 😬 I just ordered the Loctite. Good suggestion.

@@Y-DER im sure it will be better than my next mod video lol. I just got new floorboards delivered should take 10 min to install so it will take me 2 hours lol. I’m so on the fence I love it in my car but don’t see myself needing it on my trike. Never had a problem with music and have the garmen zumo xt for navigation which i hardly use. So let’s see if you sway me lol. Looking forward to it.

Nice job, good video, the only thing I might add is a fuse if there isn't one on the wire you tapped into.

Good idea. I will look into that. Thank you.

Great video. What did you use to find the yellow/purple wire ,was it behind the battery and do you know if it’s there on an 18 RTL. Does it have a name. Thanks in advance. Would love to have the dual usb on mine.
@Y-DER8 ай бұрын
I believe it is there on the 18 RTL as well. It should be just behind the little round rubber plug. I only used the inspection camera to show where it is tied down if you need more. You shouldn’t though.

@guzzialfa I think “like” translates to that, but thank you. Having back problems made it an easy decision to buy the Spyder. It’s all worth it too!

@Y-DER You & me both. Spinal cord stimulator for pain mgmt and winter before I bought my '23 I had a total right hip replacement..1st my dealer taught me how to mount a Spyder (passenger pegs and seat then slide forward, then the Can-Am Experience leader wouldn't even let me test a Ryker..she'd had several injuries and metal so she said, with your back - not even gonna let you try it. I was sold right then and there but still did 2 rides, 3 if you count 10 minutes on an F3.

Great job just missing a fuse inline. Or I maybe missed that bit
@Y-DER5 ай бұрын
This circuit is fused in the "right" fuse box where you can move it to either constant or switched power by using #6 or #7. It is a 5 Amp fuse. You didn't miss it. I didn't know where it was until after.

It was not clear to me where you tapped power. It must have been on the run portion of the harness otherwise it would be on all the time so I’m assuming the purple yellow is a run wire? Great camera work as always.
@Y-DER8 ай бұрын
Thank you! The connector that I tapped into I believe is for adding accessory power in the frunk. The purple/yellow follows the same as the lights that stay on for a few seconds after the ignition is turned off.
