I had a 110b. Mailed it to a guy in Chicago in 2012 who claimed to do packfilm conversions. Never heard from him again.

God, I love it when people find a way of using modern film on older formats. I have a Polaroid Land Camera (can't recall which one) so if I can clean it up it might be worth considering this. Thanks for telling me that the option exists! I still haven't tried it out yet, but I received the Lomo Graflock back recently and am super looking forward to trying it out! I actually have no instant film experience so that would be my first shot but as usual you have convinced me that instant is maybe worth a fun time. Fujifilm may do silly things like discontinue film a lot but I am glad instant stuff makes them enough that they keep on chugging this film out.

I just did a similar thing with my Pathfinder! I took apart a Fuji Instax 210 and I'm using that as the film back! This camera is monster.

would be amazing to see this film back for a Polaroid 100 / 420 type camera! I wonder if it'd be possible to get a custom conversion...

always a grand pleasure to attend one of your wonderful analog tutorials. you comprehensive presentations assume that your viewer requires 'all' the information, which is true. but you do it so naturally and with respect to the viewer. Just added to my analog collection with a 250 land camera for $10... let me see about this Lo-Fo and DIY place. cheers

Ja, I really found the Polaroid film to just become something else with a good old quality lens and manual controls. Alex'a works with all Polaroid instant films, battery or no battery. Check Lo-FI and you may find one for fuji square at least on the 600 SE.

hell yes, i spent all day wondering whether i should just sell the old 150 i found or shell out over 500 bucks to be able to use it with available film. and while the conversions aren't particularly cheap, they're a good chunk cheaper than sending my camera out to be converted

Well, I can only say that the 2 metal plates are removed and the whole thing is surprisingly light weight. I carried those (one) in my fanny pack for years.

I've read that Kodak and Fuji developed Instant Picture Film together, with very different results. Polaroid sued Kodak out of existence back in the day, but allowed Fuji to keep their version a "Japan/domestic only" product. Theoretically, Fuji Instax is a descendant of Kodak Instant Picture film, so, in a way, Kodak is still standing, while Polaroid "went the way of Oldsmobile and Pontiac." My Polaroid 110A was adapted to use Polaroid 108/669 pack film, which is as extinct as a Brontosaurus. Would I consider adapting it to Fuji Instax Wide? I'm mulling this over, since "the usual Fuji Instax cameras" are not much better than box cameras and can't begin to show off the quality of Fuji Instax film.;)

I have made one of these but with a 110a and i have taken the best instax wide pictures on it , i love it and even use it with flash which is a bit hard as instax is 800 iso ,this type of polaroid are amazing i also have other one that i have converted myself in 4x5 and its pretty cool too, i was going to sell the kit but some other guys did it before mine was perfected so i scrapped the idea

Curious to see how your back has held up, I bought one of these also but left mine in a car on a pretty mild day and it warped very severely. Luckily the guy who makes these has offered to rebuild it for me but I was wondering if yours has degraded at all? When I did have it working though I absolutely loved it, it works so freaking well. lol

Are you able to shoot wide open outside with this set up or are you having to use like an ND filter becuase of the ISO 800 film? Also are you rating it for 800, I've heard some people are rating it for 640. Great video!

I have a Polaroid 120 that I converted to peel-apart pack film years ago, then the film became unavailable. The Instax Wide back looks good, but my beef with Instax is that it is a "soft" image, not sharp like original Polaroid film. Is the image from the 120 any better than from one of the Fuji cameras (which I sold, the best one they had) because of the really soft fuzzy photos. If not, no point in spending $400 for the Instax back. Where can I see print examples for a close up look?
@tonygraham6140
@tonygraham6140 Жыл бұрын
If anything some may find it too sharp. The lens covers 4x5 and is of high German quality. You can see some examples at instant options website

I have a question. If you had $200 to spend on an instant camera, what would you buy. Could be new or use. Could be Fuji or Polaroid. In the end, what camera would give you the best images for $200 or less?
@asmahism
@asmahism 2 жыл бұрын
Even though there aren’t many camera options, Fuji instax wide or square film just has better color quality. The fidelity is just better than what Polaroid offer now. They are both great though
@tonygraham6140

@@asmahism Are you using the Rodenstock lens or the Tominon with a manual shutter or some other real lens? Shot instx for 3 summers with the Polaroid 190. Shot both inxtx and Polaroid film with an 110 A/B also. As Brian says below, awesonme.

Yes, it will work on pretty much any of the type 40 rollfilm polaroid cameras. Just tell me which one so I can make the custom lens stop. The only exception is the 900. I have yet to come up with an elegant/ non-destructive way to do a lens stop for that camera.
