He points out that high Volatility is what traders live for. I really think thats why financials of companies mean almost nothing in today's stock market, there are so many traders that the volatility is almost the only thing being sought. No one wants to buy an under valued stock with no almost no volatility and have to wait 5 or 10 years to be rewarded and see the profit.

But if I have to choose between businessman smart and college degree holder smart I d choose the first one. It’s all about choices.
@coreaccount43763 жыл бұрын
@David A It is true to an extent. It is wrong to overvalue either. Whereas real world experience is good and practical, a qualifications program is the sum lifetimes of experience. Qualification is not an excuse to delay forever, and experience is not an excuse to hide from getting qualified. Watch what the successful and wealthy advise their own children to do to get a clue what really matters. If they force their kids to study hard in the best schools, and to stick to it, then they know the value of good qualifications, and of the complete process of getting qualified. If they seem indifferent to schooling and instead want their kids to get real world experience, then they will stress that instead. In my experience most wealthy parents emphasize good schooling, then good experience.

We benefited from the same boom. He got rich and I was able to pay for my law degree and eliminate debt. The market boomed from 1988 to 1999. He was where all the action occurred - Wall Street.

if you are a decent enough stock trader, do not work at banks, they will exploit ur talent to hell, and if you beef with them, they bring security and get you "removed" (stock trader, not talking about stock broker here) (the two are quite different)

Great interview from a very good channel. As for Anton, he needs to see the sunrise and sunsets more often, even directly looking at the sun at 10 second increments daily.

I cant help but think a great deal of luck helped him make him his fortune...He just happened to be in the right place at the right time (i.e the tech boom)
@robinhooduk82558 жыл бұрын
i think the "right place right time" applies for just about anything doesnt it? who is to say he would even choose trading if there was a bear market? i think its more about finding a gap or expanding sector to make money from.

I'm going to asume that you also know that you need to be quite skilled to pull of all sales as well. But absolutely, you're right. Sometimes it barely matters what you're investing in, everything goes up more or less. So timing is a absolutely critical factor in investing :)

if this is true then please explain why everyone who was born from 1930-1940 are all not multi Billionaires like Warren Buffet? in Jan 1960 they all would have been 20-30 years old and the S&P500 was at 48.., now its at 2,250 - They were all born in the right place at the right time. But 99.9% of them either couldnt figure it out or screwed it up CLICK HERE www.multpl.com/s-p-500-historical-prices/table/by-month - Right place right time huh? Total BS.

All those others weren't at the right place and the right time to get the insight to start doing what Warren Buffet did. Just like today, I didn't have the idea to start smartphone app X that is now worth billions. What you state also proves that it takes a good bit of luck as well. For every Warren Buffet, there are tens if not hundreds of Williams, Walters, etc. that did the same thing as Warren but failed. Why did Warren Buffet succeed? Easy to find out, go read the numerous books about him, but will that guarantee that you will get the same result? No, it takes a certain set of skills, a certain mindset, and a big portion of luck to land certain trades/ideas. Warren Buffet is one of the lucky ones that have all of that.

How do you calculate implied volatility for forex pairs? Forex pairs do not have options or futures derived from forex pairs? I would like to calculate implied volatility for USD/JPY

well, trading with other ppl 's money is a lot easier than one's own money. that's why lots of people do well in those virtual trading games. we can even do better than buffet and munger sometimes. but to become a trader and climb the ladders in the firms may be a lot harder than trading itself.

Can someone fully explain volatility? I'm new and this has been confusing me. Is it linear of saying Bullish or Bearish?? Excuse my ignorance, just learning.
@markbaskett70793 жыл бұрын
Means there is a lot of price movements in a market up and down. Opposite would be a stable market, prices moving in one direction consistently over time. More volatile market gives more opportunity to make money but a lot more risk. Bit coin market I would think is considered to have a high level of volatility.

With my desire to learn more about portfolio and risk management, I came across this video and I'm really lucky I did. As a freshgrad who works in the IT side of a hedgefund company, I have little to no idea about finance, economics or how stock market works. Its really a great help for me to listen from someone who has experience. I might have no idea yet about fundamentals or even technicals with regards to portfolio management. I still feel lucky that I'm learning about the best attitude to have before entering the world of investment or trading. * Be Patient * Have emotional detachment to your P&L * Learn towards generating good ideas (which I have to really work on as of the moment 😂) As a last note, Anton is full of wisdom and I enjoy binge watching his videos and seminars. Great work and God bless!
