Johnny, I have a different method of cutting them for sampling: cut it in half, tip to stem, and then slice slivers lengthwise. This gives a better idea of the overall flavor of the pepper, especially if you take a slice with a rib or placenta. It tends to be a little hotter than just taking the tip, but bitter and floral flavors tend to hide up by the stem, and you get the whole harmony of the pepper.

2024 was my 1st year into superhots. I started out this way of top slice of pepper, then bottom slice of pepper. Then I transitioned into half a pepper, to finally whole peppers. Last night I ate a RB003, then a Wartryx followed by a Primotalii. All within a few hours. I loved the heat and taste of all 3 but after the Primotalii I had the gut cramps. 2nd time ever had the gut cramps. Made me realize even though I am chasing that heat, the heat is only stage one of tolerance building. My gut wasn't ready for that much. Should have done 1/2 a pepper of all 3. Lesson learned after 45 minute cramps. Haha.

I've been following your tolerance videos, and got up to serrano. I've had tons of habanero sauces and flavored stuff, but not a habanero pod. I used this method with an orange habanero a couple weeks ago - very thin slices, realizing I could stop at any time. Over a short time, I ate the whole pepper, one thin slice at a time, and found through each slice, the indication of sweet flavor, and a fraction of the burn - in manageable levels. I realized if I'd eaten the pepper more aggressively or in bigger pieces, I'd have been in trouble, but it also gave me a really nice idea of the heat/potency of a habanero pod. I'm not there yet, but will get there.

I’m posting this before I watch the video but I’m assuming you’re gonna say cut the tip of the pepper off and eat that to test its hotness. Love that you did a video on this.

I never had a chocolate bhutlah, just so many peppers to try. Superhots make me😊. Do you know of any more super hot sellers still selling now? Waiting on lonestar mastiff order now should be good for 2 weeks, then time to break out my frozen pods.

I have little problem with eating hot peppers. I love them. I just have a problem once they've reached the terminus of the digestive tract. I'm not in to that at all.

I've come to realize that my mouth burn tolerance is way above my throat burn tolerance. Is there any peppers you recommend that are hot but not super hot that give you that throat burn to try and build a tolerance there?

Out-Mexican the Mexicans in transportation costs! Bottle pure hot sauces in 3L green wine (food grade plastic) jugs for sale to mom and pops food services across continental US for making house blends (most cannot obtain pure pepper sauces with unadulterated flavors only admixtures): Pepper King's tastebuds probably worth more than $1-million in American hot sauce finance, commerce and industry? Thanks Pepper King!!!
