now a days when there are muliple electrical drives they are connected through communiction cable connected to DCS Drives ABB DCS can be siemens or Yaskava in some plants Drives can be Siemens and DCS can be ABB or some other sometimes both drive and DCS from same supplier who is to decide which protocol to be used in the above cases
