This Episode provides a summary of the IRDAI Master Circular for Policy Approval, focusing on the protection of policyholders' interests. Key points include:
Free Look Period: Life insurance policies with a term of one year or more have a 30-day free look period, during which the policy can be canceled, and a refund will be processed within 7 days.
Customer Information Sheet (CIS): The CIS provides policy details in simple terms, including benefits, exclusions, and important details like the free look period and policy renewal date.
Policy Claim Time: Death claims are processed within 15 days (no investigation) or 45 days (with investigation). Surrender/partial withdrawal claims are processed within 7 days, and maturity benefits/annual withdrawals are paid on the due date. Delays in claim settlement result in additional interest paid at the bank rate plus 2%.
Policies in E-Format: Customers can choose to receive their policies in electronic format but can also request a physical copy.
Digilocker: Policies can be stored in Digilocker.
Cashless Policy Discharge: Insured individuals should be discharged within 3 hours, and any delays beyond this will result in extra charges borne by insurers.
Cashless Authorization: Cashless authorization should be provided within 1 hour of the request.
Multiple Health Insurance Policies: In the case of multiple health insurance policies, the insured can claim from the policy of their choice. If the claim amount is higher than the policy approval, the balance can be claimed from the next policy.

સર મારે LIC માથી પોલિસી લીધે 3 વર્ષ થઇ ગયા છે અને અત્યાર સુધીમાં 2 લાખ પ્રીમિયમ ભરી દીધું છે, હવે મારે પોલિસી બંધ કરવી હતી તો મે કાલે જ એટલે કે 26-09-2024 ના રોજ LIC ના કસ્ટમર કેર મા ફોન કરીને વાત કરી તો એમને મને જવાબ આપ્યો કે તમને surrender value 56000 જ મળશે, મને તો ખૂબ જ આઘાત લાગ્યો કે મે 2 લાખ ભર્યાં છે એને મને પાછા 56000 જ મળે છે બોલો..... ખરેખર LIC ની કે કોઇ પણ બીજી company ની પોલિસી ના જ લેવાય આટલું બધું નુકશાન તો ના જ વેઠાય ને.
