Ive had it for years...its like suddenly youre wide awake but you cant MOVE...and you feel like you cant BREATHE!! I have to concenteate really, really hard - just concentrating on moving a pinky fingrr....but once I get it to move, then its like something inside you breaks loose and you can finalky move & breathe again. Scariest experience ever.

Sleep paralysis is common for those with sleeping disorders, I had hundred's of episodes during my life, including episodes I induced myself. You still dream when you have those, so your state of mind can affect what you "see", exactly like in a dream. For me sleep paralysis is enjoyable so I don't get nightmares. The worst thing people fear when in a weakened state is being taken advantage of, so they make up ghosts, shadow people, demons, hags and succubus, pretty much depending on the fashioned monster of the moment or their beliefs. The monster take advantage of them and I believe the anxiety produced by those dreams induce more episodes, pretty much enclosing peoples in a vicious circle. Letting go, by closing your eyes is really the best thing you can do besides learning lucid dreaming (Being aware you are dreaming and controlling the dream).

Sometimes I wake up with sleep paralysis and then I realize I’m still dreaming so I try to fully wake myself up but then I’m stuck in this cycle of thinking that I’m finally actually awake but not really. Eventually I do finally wake up but holy shit is it the scariest thing. I end up having to sit up or get out of bed just to make sure I’m actually awake because if I fall back asleep I go straight back into the cycle and have to start from the beginning.

In all of the 28 years of my life. I have never heard that you have to keep the window open on a plane when taking off or landing because of any kind of pressure. They say you have to do it for eye light adjustment so in case you have to exist in the case of an emergency you can do it quicker.

(Sorry for kinda long comment but wanted to share my story a little) Had it for about 8-10 years,came out of nowhere,when it happens to me,I can't open my eyes,some people can,but I can hear everything,I can feel my enviroment,and the things i hear and feel are terrifying,you feel something bad near you,and sometimes you see it hear it,but you can always feel a bad presence somewhere and sometimes I hear my husband and kids in the room or other room and in my head im screaming for help,but to them it looks like im sleeping,and over the years,I learned a way to snap out of it,its very difficult,but I tell my brain to make my arm flinch,it takes everything I got to just flinch a tiny bit,but that tiny bit... Well it's like I unlocked it and when the flinch happens I do it again and then i can breathe and my eyes open,and I cant go back to sleep for at least 30-45 mins cuz I'll go right back into it otherwise,it happens to me when I wake or when I'm falling asleep and what you feel is terrifying,I thought about writing a book about all the things I hear and feel and what I've had to learn to break free from it,it's similar but different for everyone,sone can open there eyes some cant,some can breathe normal some cant,some see or hear awful things,some dont and so on,it started in my mid 20s literally just out of nowhere and being 34 now ive just accepted it as a part of me

I started getting sleep paralysis in my twenties and now it usually happens one to three times a year usually. Mine varies in experience, as well. Some are just completely conscious the entire time but I'm unable to move. Others force me to fall in and out of dreams that mimic reality to the point where I'm confused about which one is real (I call this dream bobbing, but I don't know if there's a real term for it). I very rarely see scary things as most of mine are auditory hallucinations instead or visual experiences. The auditory ones are way worse than the visual ones I had, in my opinion. I had an episode last night that was auditory combined with dream bobbing. During the episode, I heard men talking in my room, but couldn't see them since I wear a sleep mask to bed. I attempted to wiggle my body and I heard one of the men say "Did she just try to move?" in a really raspy voice. The voices got quiet as if they were looking at me. Due to the dream bobbing, I kept falling in and out of reality after that. I felt like I was in severe danger every time I dipped into the dream, and panicked when I'd "wake" since I didn't want to keep sinking back under into the dream that I felt was safe. In the dream, my room looked similar to my room but I knew it wasn't real. It was a bit grey in color and darker, and it felt like something evil was coming. I was struggling to breath and was trying to figure out how to wake up in reality, and then snapped back to reality where I finally was able to unlock fully and sit up... I'm glad I don't get sleep paralysis often because these experiences are terrible.

Happens to me too! My dogs help me so much when this happens. They move to either side of me and just watch over calmly until it is over. when it is over they lay on top of me because I basically have a panic attack after and to have the heat and pressure is so helpful. I also feel less vulnerable with them there as I know they will protect me and they are something I can focus on as I know they are real as sometimes there are people in the room with me that aren't actually there. If they don't react to them I know the people aren't actually there and I am safe. I also am also an evening showerer! Lol

@Villain reacts maybe?! Or maybe if we take a shower at night take a cold shower. My doctor said I need a more consistent sleep schedule with a night routine and try to keep my room at a cooler temperature. Maybe it's the heat from the shower that triggers it?

I used to have sleep paralysis often as a kid, luckily i dont get them anymore and thankfully i never really had like an Ominous presence in my room but i couldnt move, not even my head and i felt like i couldnt breathe. i could, but i just felt like i couldnt control it, and i couldnt feel my lungs inflate. the way i could wake myself up fully was to try to squeeze my eyes shut. it didnt work because obviously i couldnt move my eyes but the more i strained to try to squeeze them shut the more awake i got and then eventually id jolt fully awake. not a fun experience but im glad i was never jumpscared by a monster lmao

I have sleep paralysis at least once or twice a week and it's so scary when it happens. If I become sentient in the middle of a dream I get dragged into my bed and pinned down into my bed in my dreams. I've started sleep with rain sounds or music and I've trained myself to try to focus on the music to wake myself up.

Sleep Paralysis is no joke. First time it happened to me I thought I was dead. I've never seen any demons or monsters.
@jpao1834 Жыл бұрын
Sleep Paralysis is 100% real, but based on my experience? It's not Paranormal or any supernatural phenomenon. It happend to be like a couple of times when I was a kid. I often get sick back then, and whenever I have high temp fever, it was almost a guarantee that I'll be experiencing sleep paralysis. I'm just there, lying on my bed, nothing. The real "fear" for me is the realization of I cannot move even if I put in the effort, my body simply cannot respond.

Closing my eyes does not always work the best way I know how to get rid of it is to focus on my breathing because if I make myself aware that I am indeed breathing then I have some control like I'm not still I can feel my chest rise and fall so you focus on that and it's not that you can't move because your chest is moving so breathing in makes your body moves so you're able to move but once my brain is registering that my chest is moving and I'm not being held down I can snack out of it
@sagirahakaevilbunny227 Жыл бұрын
There are certain positions I can no longer sleep in for example I can't sleep on my stomach unless my arms are out on each side I cannot sleep with a blanket covering my arms and my neck at the same time I cannot sleep on my arms any position I cannot sleep sitting up with my head down but at the same time I can't necessarily say that my brain doesn't know I'm awake or my body doesn't whenever I do snap out of it it's vague images or I've seen this for example your bedroom you know what your bedroom looks like you've seen it a 1000 times before millions of times but when you wake up from that paralysis it's not the same image as a distorted image of your room in the sleep Paralysis dream I guess Interesting enough I barely rarely have a demon it's mostly not being able to breathe yeah
