Having the timer on the screen was really quite helpful to track his hunting pattern down. Ultimately the deers were the worst, they make absolutely no sound, when walking

@@deerlyqueery Yeah, like a horse-like breathe out sound, or something like that, to show deer's proximity, whenever it's too close, would be amazing. But that's also the charm of the game, deer might be a slow enemy, but consistently is THERE, making him hard to avoid at nights

I’m a roblox game dev and I’m remaking pumpkin panic on roblox (I already asked for permission from the creator & it’s more of a inspiration because many things will change to be able to be both played in multiplayer & single player at the same time) and the timing of the rake violin is something I never was able to get right, It always felt either too fast or too slow

Best early game strat imo: you can get 2 batches of the starter plants before the skinwalker shows up for the first time. So start with the crow pet (for bad luck mitigation) and plant the 5 seeds. You should be able to run to the well to fill up and return just as the plants reach their next cycle. hope that you get 2-3 extra seeds after the first harvest and plant them again. If you are fast enough you have about 10-20 seconds untill Skinwalker shows up, buy the first key (cabbages) get 5 seeds and the first well upgrade. Only go for cabbage seeds at this point untill you have enough for purple key + 20 purple seeds (700 coins total). After skinwalker leaves change to Possum (best pet), plant cabbage, buy 5 more with leftover money and plant those as well, your starting bucket has just enough capacity to water 10 cabbages. Now start looping around farm looking for forage (don't sell and get fishing asap) I think this is the most optimal start you can get, but as always play how you want of course.

I would love to see Insym attempt nightmare speedrun achievement. A little tip for it: enable timer in the settings, it helps a ton with predicting Crawler. Edit: nvm, Insym already knows about the timer

I also think money is not really an issue, as doing the quests for the Scarecrow, since that's where RNG can screw the player, especially when attacks and clowns and deers start to plie up

The bat, Squeaky, is helpful but inconsistently warns of nearby Windeergos, requiring the player to traverse as cautiously as without him. Hence, I tend to stick with Henry for passive income and, after I've got a bunch of crops going, Puddles for extra water. I've come close to winning but no cigar... yet. EDIT: I beat nightmare mode today. :)

I have managed to win somehow, i found the best strat is to max out your lantern asap so you can react in time when deer appears out of nowhere during the night

@konradbukowski8740 - My biggest hurdle was catching ghosts. Sans instructions, I thought that I had to run through them while while holding the B (dash) and A (pick up/drop down) buttons of my Xbox controller. This _rarely_ worked, and, while everything else accomplished, my luck would run out. Hence, I watched this video again to try and figure out what I was doing wrong, and a comment Insym made about the dash mode gave me the idea to simply tap the B button to activate dash mode and _then_ press A to grab the ghost. This was the trick I needed to win!

She has a cool down but I still find her way more useful because she will illuminate the deer with a purple dust after squeaking so you know where BOTH of them are. I think the cool down is 50 seconds, but I've found in my playthrough that is enough time to at least know generally where they are, since you know one of them is always following you.

For anyone who's struggling to beat nightmare mode: I won by having Squeaky at night and Peanut during the day. Lanterns and constantly checking the timer is key. The longer I played - the better I got at predicting when the crawler would arrive - It is more frequent than normal mode: first time was almost always on the dot at 00:01:30, and then it's anywhere from every 1.5 minutes to 2 minutes. Whenever I got too scared or tired during the night, I would literally just stand next to my door (when it's open there's a bit of light seeping out) with the bat alerting me of any deer - you can trigger them and run inside for them to leave your house area quicker (leave as soon as their running sound stops). And if the crawler comes during that time, the candles should still have enough time for you to wait that out too (unless you stayed in too long beforehand) You can buy all keys, mainly to walk around the farm easier - not having to walk around every time, but I mainly focused on growing the cucumbers (i think that's what the purple seeds are?) and the started ones - but the fish are most important, as they give a ton of money really quickly. I beat it on like my 5th try - the one I didn't take seriously at first, only wanting to collect Squeaky for a future run - so, with a bit of dedication it should be doable!

I like to play peekaboo with the cannibal at the shack, if you keep running out and back in, it preserves your candle a little more. He can't reach you as long as you are inside, so you can teeter right on the edge and be safe
