A few people described it but crunk is a sub genre that became popular in the 2000's with groups like lil John and the Eastside boys and ying yang twins. It's a southern thing, club oriented dance music. They call it crunk because it's something you get crunked to lol.Crunked as in getting very excited and full of energy. If you want a good example of crunk try petey pablo's freek a leek or Ciara's goodies (the latter of which is inspired by freek a leek and it's genre is crunk&b,crunk and r&b.

Krunk was a form of Southern Rap that was popular in the early to mid 2000's. It is raps version of hardcore punk music. Lil Jon and East Boys "Bia Bia" and Young blood "Damn!" Are classic examples. Its called Krunk because clubs in the South at the times were full on mash pits when these sounds came on Elbows and Fist would fly and its was just how it went.
