Intake for Indy, Dodger and Jazzy - Feral flood survivors

I got Covid around the time this was made. Stuck at home, i found this channel and started following Indy and Dodger. Unfortunately Jazzy had passed away by the time i started watching. You also had another stream with a litter of kittens and their mom. It really was comforting to have them streaming on my TV and i hope it was also comforting for my cat Bombay as we had lost my other cat Lucy a couple of months earlier. Thank you for all the great work that you do!

I live in California where we have fire, floods, mudslides and all manner of catastrophe. The animals are the ones who seem to suffer most. Thank you for being there for these little ones.

Omg.poor beautiful babies. They’re safe now. The floods in b.c sound horrific and most definitely sound catastrophic for whoever was in its path. God bless all creatures living and breathing. My heart goes out to this fam & so many others during this awful time. I know recovering from something like this seems to take forever, but you'll get there. Cats love to have people touch them where they feel comfortable. And when you touch a cat's body, the roommate (owner) also feels at ease and relieved. It has been shown that when we are around our favorite animals, our facial expressions naturally relax and we smile, and our blood pressure and heart rate stabilize as we relax through contact. Even if you don't massage your cat's body to the proper pressure points, touching your cat's body can help reduce daily stress for both cats and people. Also, as you continue to massage your cat, you will be able to sense small changes in its physical condition, and you may be able to detect illnesses early. If your cat is accustomed to being touched on a regular basis, it will be easier for you to examine your cat when you go to the veterinary clinic, for example.😻🐱😻🐱😻😍

Please everyone remember that while Dawn is good for oil spills, it's not good for your pets skin because it strips them of good oil also. If your pet is naturally greasy, you need to use the close, open, close technique. Condition, shampoo, condition to strip them of extra grease and still keep their skin healthy.

Yes. These three are the remaining survivors of a Sanctuary. All the other cat survivors were brought out by two men on jet skies. These three could not be reached until today. There are longer details in the video description.

If you have three people-socialized cats, and you adopt a feral from a colony (I would think that you need to be careful about potential illness, but assume that's done) how do the cats get along? I assume a colony cat really knows how to get along with other cats. The three who have lived with people since they were baby kittens might be hissy and difficult about it. How does it work out? Are there other pitfalls I'm not aware of? I've never had a feral kitty. Not sure we could stand a fourth litter box bombe donor, but hey, for now I'm just asking about it. Would a female cat make the transition better than a male cat? Do they learn that people are okay from the other cats?

I've known people who have taken in feral or semi-feral cats while having a socialized cat or 2 and that helps the feral cat significantly with adjusting. I took in a cat that had been abandoned and had I not heard from the neighborhood that he had a home at one time I would've thought he was feral. His time on the streets was harder than the well taken care of cats around him so he really isn't the best with other cats. It took a while but he really loves me and cuddling, and loves foster kittens. I think it all depends on the cat and their situation and as someone said before introduction is the most crucial aspect.

Nope! They were giving them a bath with Dawn soap to remove anything that they might have gotten on their fur due to most likely being directly in the flooded water.
