There are so many people/youtubers out there that only seem to take psychedelics to see pretty colours and shapes, that it's always good to hear from people like yourself, Rob, who respect the substances, and can find great value in these experiences. Great advice, as ever, mate.

Love your content man! I'm happy to see more people talking about integration. Since we do not have a shamanic function in our society, we have to relearn these things in order to help people truly heal. It took me several years to integrate a single mushroom and acid trip, and i could say I'm still integrating.

Thank you so much for making this. I got involved in psychedelic activism after using psilocybin to free myself from otherwise untreatable PTSD. I'm kind of a loner in the community because I had already been there and done that with New Age scene in my early to mid 20's and after reading some Carl Sagan I'd been a science minded atheist for many years before finding psychedelics. I would never decline anyone's friendship because they believe in stuff I don't but at the same time I'm internally doing the worlds biggest groan and eyeroll when people start telling me about their psychic powers or that they're energy workers. I don't think they understand that from where I am they're just a weirdo waving their hands around and thinking they're way, way, way more special than everyone else. One or two powerful experiences and they start calling themselves a shaman and talking about themselves like they're the next Timothy Leary or something. For some it's ego-death and others it's ego-steroids.

I found keta a very profound experience and much easier to integrate changes in my life. Things as simple as re-friending certain people, spending more real time with family, start making music again. I had the profound experiences (ancient voice/ancient wisdom) from psychedelics but found it much harder to integrate after those experiences , probably because taking some psychedelics can wipe me out after the experience.

Love the way you think about these topics. My last heavy experience was beautiful and scary and intense and all the things a heavy experience usually is but at the end of it all it left me with a simple message. Quit smoking and eat better. Now, given this message, I must integrate that into my life before I even think about going into another heavy experience lest I become disingenuous to my own experience. It gave me a mission that I must fulfill and going back before the task is done would be silly. Thank you for the video!

This is the 1st video I have ever come across in all the time i watch tv shows or youtube vids, nobody has ever laid out the life lessons that i was blessed to discover at a very young age and still theres struggle. Do keep in mind that over the long time frame ive gotten more steady and constant growth on my spirit & mind and than i was able too do so with the last, the body. Even way before i meet this channel i was always an explorer when it came too inner growth. And like all things that grow, to move up one must never stay in one spot. This vid shows the wisdom you could only achieve with this different perspective. It works

After several really powerful revelations...I knew I needed time to integrate the experience. What actually happened, is that I ended up visiting a hypnotherapist two years later.... Seeing visions, and being able to implement change, are two different things. Now that was the best money I've ever spent. All the psychedelics did really, were show me where to look. The actual life change came through a professional therapist. Not some branded hippie nonsense, but a trained hypnotherapist that help integrate my whole life. That was how I beat a life of depression and anxiety, relationship issues, life choices....all the things I'd looked to the medicine to help with... My life has never been the same since. You shouldn't overlook this amazing combo, not everyone out there just want to take your money... Really enjoyed this video. Very valuable info!

@@laurentcambon that was part of a larger picture. Mushrooms gave me just as much to process, just in a different way. Aya was 'better', only because of the support and length of journey (4 nights) where as mushrooms, I was alone. Both showed me where to look... sometimes with a direct dialogue with something divine... Problem was, what do you do with the enormity of the revealations, when no one else knows your life, the process your going through, or what you were shown! Hypnotherapy took me back over my life, very precise, and re wired my brain. Both were vital to my solving my issues in the end. Both lead to a deeper understanding...but only hypnotherapy stopped the profound depression...4 years clear now...

Sometimes you can set an intention and the substances will still show you what you need to see rather than what you want to see. For instance; I wanted to just chill on my b-day and so drank some mush tea. Instead I got a weird fantastical dragon battle situation. I won't go into details but the insight was this; there was someone in my social circles who wasn't what i thought they were and I needed to get them away from me as they were detrimental to my progress. I was shown that in my hopes and naiveté, I'd not made the corrections necessary to keep myself safe. (i used to be too nice to people, and could use a little more of that warrior spirit) I journal everything (not just trips, but dreams, meditations, etc too) and shared the experiences with friends before taking action the following week. Needless to say, I think I've outdone myself. Everything is good and as should be right now as far as I know. I still have plenty to work on, personally, but being able to experience, experiment, and reflect on a real world situation helps me feel like I've leveled up in a way. Another word of advice; Somatic Integration! I'm not a therapist, I'm a creative wellness advocate! If you get stuck finding the words to express the experiences that you have, you can also bring them back to the surface by other means; Dancing, drawing, painting, etc. Doing something physical can bring up those processes and make it easier to give words to. Another word of advice would be to explore various psychotherapy models. Everyone's experience is subjective and exploring different modes and belief systems will help you find your way. Don't forget to take all the notes. Share what you find! Also, does anyone know of channels on here sharing cool trip stories? I want to hear what kind of experiences other people are having. haha

Amazing information. Wish I had had access to this when I started my psychedelic journey at 18. I took quite a lot of doses ranging from micro to standard/high-ish (e.g. 200ug LSD, 4ish grams of mushrooms, 1 solid dose of DMT, bunch of research chems), all in a variety of sets and settings. I experienced both the sublime and the earth-shattering psychological horror shows that psychedelics have to offer, some of which were just due to pure stupidity on my part. I haven’t done any psychedelics in a few years now, but I’m very happy this information is out there to help other people experimenting with these substances. It could really change a person’s life for the better, so thank you.

To me I see integration as insight, experience from anything in life, psychedelic experiences included, that you have no problem accepting and it has now become something that informs your life whether it is action or attitude or thoughts or focus or direction that your life takes apart from or in concert with your willed intention. There are no doubt other ways that acceptance of experience into one's being begins to contribute or subtract from our experience, as many ways as the infinitude of one's awareness without limit encompasses, I suppose. I think too there is an aspect of something becoming comfortable and familiar. So perhaps on some bizarre and exotic and highly entertaining psychedelic trip, my personal favorite kind, we meet the spectacular green orange and blue laughing mushroom mushroom ladies. We sit down to have a drink and a chat with them and during that chat they say, "We really appreciate you, because you are the only one around here for the last 20,000 years who has appreciated us! These people around here, not only ignore us, they just don't wanna know! You on the other hand, know just what and who we are and you knock at the door and want to be friendly!" So once you come back from mushroom fairy land perhaps something does stick with you from such an experience, perhaps that there are concious entities that make up our environment, and that nature is not much different than human beings, it too appreciates being acknowledged and that it doesn't have to be civilization against fungi or plants or animals or the earth itself and the difference between someone who has had contact with powerful allies such as mushrooms or other psychedelic plants and those who haven't is that we have integrated certain experiences by partaking of the se plants and establishing a relationship with nature directly. This I think is very powerful when it is integrated, ie, when it becomes a part of our world.

I had an experience a few days ago with L. The moments I remember were really special. Towards the end I was more clear headed, I took some insight w me that I can write about for myself. But I can't help but be a little bummed that I hardly remember any of the strongest hrs of it. I guess a big thing I can take in as the integration is the lesson I learned. I started allowing myself to take these tools when I'm already buzzing on alcohol. I think that definitely is why I don't remember much. I forgot that alcohol lowers my strength and my protective shield, my inhibition.. for the longest time I never wanted to mix alcohol w these special journeys.. and I kinda wasted a very powerful experience. "Wasted" gonna write about the last few trips that I've had and haven't done well to integrate. :)

Love your cut through the bull. One thing I disagree with. I am generally pretty clear headed in the after glow, and I find that if I don't implement action immediately integration gets harder over time. For me, I feel like the afterglow phase is a time limited window for me to change my habits, so if I leave it a month, I will lose that opportunity

Obviously everyone is different so you can tailor the process to whatever works for you. I know several people who had revelations that they immediately acted upon and regretted afterwards, so I think a bit of caution is generally a good thing.
@jonokemphughes
@jonokemphughes 9 ай бұрын
That makes sense. I'm trying to think of a solution that integrates both considerations. Here is my clearest example. I was really depressed, drinking heavily and destroying all of my critical relationships after my first girlfriend dumped me for about 4 months, then I had my first ever mushroom trip, spent 5 hours walking home after failing to find a rave in the woods and came to the realisation that i was choosing to indulge in misery. I knew that i had been caught on camera stealing jack daniels from waitrose (week prior) so after watching the sun rise, I walked in to tell them that I wanted to pay. I was 17, so they got real confused, as they couldn't, someone was talking about calling the police, then a manager got involved and told me to be on my way. I returned to feeling being miserable, but I had changed my behaviour and I worked my way out of it pretty quickly after that. I'm not sure that I would have turned my life around had I not acted immediately, but I take your point. Im tempted to think that 'should you act on psychedelic induced insight immediately' is just one of those irritating questions that defies generalisation.

For me integration is just natural...u trip u experience u think things while tripping then after u take those thoughts and either use or don't use them in your life... Mostly i have nothing to integrate ,and if I do the message is very clear

I once had PTSD from LSD and your video was very grounding, in a community of people who will have the tendency to get lost outside the box. I have been dealing with flashbacks everyday for half a year, and your video really helps a lot for me, more then you could probably realize. 🫂 I have taken a break from psychedelics and I am still trying to figure out what is bogus, and what is worth integrating. I think about that trip everyday still, more then any other kind of thoughts that also float around throughout my day. I often will have problems talking to other psychedelic users online and they tell me they also found "the truth", it is extremely triggering to my PTSD when people say that, and I become too emotionally compromised. So comprised to the point I won't be able to ground myself, or use my logic when they say something that intense from my perspective. You did a good job and actually helped me more then you can know, I don't hear stuff like this enough and need to watch more of your content due to the pragmatic approach here.

Getting lost outside the box is a great way to put it! Taking a break is always a good idea if you have trouble with differing weird woo ideas with useful ones that you can apply in your life.

This is the best day of my life. I truly have found God and its apart of me, resides within me. I've been crying and can't believe what's happening to me right now. The fog has lifted from my brain, I feel this great abundance of love and joy. I just want to hug everyone lol. I have so much to say to my love ones and I don't feel this wall or contract stopping me to do so. I still can't believe I found God and it has glared threw my soul reviving me. This hatred I use to feel is leaving me like ice in hot water. I love you Adeptus Psychonautica💚 if it wasn't for your videos and Minty loves videos and Psychedelic Actualization I'd still be stuck on that track to nowhere. Something is happening to my brain or consciousness. Thoughts are so clear. My emotions are taking over me like freight Train. Things can only get better from this stage on. Thank you brothers🧡👊🙏

I've personally, until a very specific mushroom trip, had never had much trouble working through my experiences and integrating what I had seen and experienced. However, after taking a 10g dose of B+, I was so. . . Traumatized? By the experience that I not only haven't been able to process through it, but have stopped taking mushrooms altogether. I appreciate video's like this. I just hope no one has to experience what I did. lol.

Quick thought here: I dont think "True" is a good metric of an insight. There are many insights that people have that may not be true, but are very useful. For example: a person's inner guidance says they should do yoga, exercise more, and and eat less junk food. Is it true? Hard to say in any empirical sense. It's completely a subjective insight, but can yield a very useful qualitative difference in the person's life for the better. Another example: a person gets an insight that they deserve to work at a better job. Their self worth is saying they can do better. Is it "True"? Again, completely subjective. But integrating such an insight may be very helpful. I'm sure you get my point. Your emphasis on "TRUE" for insights is a very binary one that filters out a large chunk of the psychedelic experience, which is that it's largely subjective (ie, most of it takes place internally for a person). That being said, your point that there are insights that are obviously nonsense that don't need integrating is totally on point and worth saying (and repeating! :) discernment is an important part of integration.
@AdeptusPsychonautica

I clearly stated within the video that the context of the word "true" was that the person believed it to be true, and that it had no bearing on it being objectively true.

@@AdeptusPsychonautica Fair enough. All I'm saying is perhaps theres a better descriptor for what you're saying. People tend to get hung up on "truth" anyways. Food for thought. And bravo for trying to decode this mysterious term for people. It really is so much simpler than it's made out to be.

As i began to comedown, for the first time in my life i thought - and genuinely believed it was true - that I'm so glad I am alive. But i cant find out how to intergrate it. What behaviours to change. Last night while sober i thought about suicide again
