holy shit. been listening to the fetus version for almost 20 years and never knew it was a cover. I must say, i will be looking into the rest of Intergrity's catalog now. fuckin badass band
@Kotzgrinder3 жыл бұрын
Ha! Im not the only one! I got to know integrity through the dying fetus version, and it took me a few years to realize that it was a cover song. And actually now i prefere the integrity version, cause its more " Raw and from the heart" . Dying fetus did a good job on this, but its not the same.

I slept on old school Hardcore for so long because in the early 2010s I thought “karate in the pit” was lame. I was getting tired of all the bland and repetitive metal and now I have a whole new world of music to discover…and it’s less gimmicky than metal

@MikioBo I call them hardcore, too. I would say the Cro-Mags were the first big crossover band, but D.R.I. and Anthrax were at it too in the 80s.
@fearxtomorrow13 жыл бұрын
To anyone looking for the lyrics. I bet if you send Dwid a Hawaiian shirt he'll hook you up with a lyric sheet. To the people trying to define the band's genre. They're a hardcore band, they incorporated metal riffs and solos and dark imagery. Bands who would later be dubbed metalcore (Hatebreed, All Out War, etc) often cite them as an influence. The term metalcore didn't even exist during Integrity's heyday.
@michaeledward52014 жыл бұрын
How do you explain people have seen metalcore at 90s? I could agree with you but there is an interview who talk about metalcore term at 80s in bands like chumbuckers dri leeway in magazine thethankslist.com/mike-score-all-out-war-below-the-frost/
@rohitchaoji4 жыл бұрын
You could really say the same about progenitors of any genre. Just because it wasn't properly defined when they were laying the groundwork doesn't mean can't be called that genre. I'd say they were still mostly hardcore, but calling them metalcore wouldn't be inaccurate.
@michaeledward52014 жыл бұрын
@@rohitchaoji I have conflicts in how people confuse between metalcore and hardcore, of course there may be another alternative name (metallic hardcore) but my problem is, these types of bands cannot partially hardcore, lets take account the main influences, same as emo powerviolence crossover but obviusly bands like integrity converge or hatebreed theyre mixture between metal and hardcore punk, it does matter i dont know if is metalcore an official genre?? You could say a simple hardcore band but when listen those type of bands it isnt irrelevant and debately
@rohitchaoji4 жыл бұрын

Not trying to be an ass or start an argument, but this is practically the dictionary definition of metalcore. The dictionary definition of hardcore would be something more like early Slapshot or SSD. That said, everyone's got their own definitions of ______core, so to each his own. This just coming from someone who was there for the births (and deaths) of just about every ______core out there :) Peace out!
