I know that promo pics can very slightly from the actual doll that eventually gets released but to me there is a big difference in the hair length in both of these girls. One of the reasons I almost purchased these two dolls was because of the LONG stylish hair length and I would have been disappointed with the much shorter and wavier hair styles in the finished product. Still beautiful dolls, but much different from promo pics! I do think it’s deceiving to get something so different at this price point and can see why collectors were upset.Thank you for yet another great detailed review. Great job!

I do think the longer length looks better on the Colette, though she's still a pretty doll. Integrity dolls are expensive so I get collector's irritation if what they ordered isn't what they recieve.

Very true. Even though they are "budget" IT dolls, collectors should receive what they paid for or a better reasoning for the change. -Sang

Great review!!! Love the comparison with previous incarnations of the characters.. And Colette looks really different!! I am not fond on them, but I liked the pink haired Colette, because she looks so extra... And I like this line of dolls, because I like the price/versatile combo, I really liked the "promo" pics of Colette, so I enter in the lottery. I won, and I was excited.. but saw some pics, had second thoughts.; and got rid of her before it was too late 😂... Now watching your video.. she looks fine.. But I'm still not sure. BTW about the hair issue, I do agree that this is a touchy subject, because while I do agree that this could be worrisome, in the promo emails it always says: "IMPORTANT NOTE: Prototypes shown, final production may vary." and If it is not a "defect", I think it is valid... But have to say, this is the first time (I see) a dramatic change from the promo images...

Agreed! We can always expect a little difference between the prototype and released doll but it is a bit drastic this time around. Still lovely dolls and I'm sure they made fans really happy. -Sang

Both are wonderful and, to be honest, I didn't notice Colette's hair in promotional photos is longer and not as weavy as the doll herself. 🤔 Seriously I didn't see it 😅 anyways this Colette is my fave of all. Karolin is beautiful too but I prefer Colette. Thank you guys for the review! ☺️☺️

Both of these dolls came out great, especially Karolin. While I do think the irl shorter hair on Colette was a bit deceptive (bc the dolls were in stock according to the lotto details), it wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me. Also I wasn't happy with the $16 price increase and hopefully it won't continue to rise in the future if there are more essentials to come. Great video and thanks for sharing!! ps. but...what about this Wu 20th anniversary Poppy lotto LE@ 450 each though 👀👀👀!!! Once again feeling chances are slim to none for a win. To make it more difficult are more and more peeps trying to win just to flip. I know this is by no means new...but why have I never really noticed until this year LOL??

IT needs to be more upfront with collectors but it's hard since W Club seems to be handling this release and they aren't IT. A lot of information/communication could be lost in between both parties. The shorter hair should have been mentioned in the initial email for sure. The Jason Wu Poppys were a big surprised. A lot of unhappy collectors. I hope more fans won than scalpers! I think with everything going on in the world and new IT fans, competition is fierce this year. -Sang

The thing about the hairgate - as it were - is that, far as I can tell, this is the first time such a big disparity took place. And, certainly, it didn't help that Jessy's prototype Colette doll had the same length that the promos did. I still like mine but understand and agree that the shorter length is an issue for Colette (on Karolin I didn't even notice tho, NGL) because that extra inch really did add a special sparkle to her.

Yes, I don't think IT or the W Club expected such a backlash but they could've handled it better. The shorter hair does devalue Colette a bit but she's still a gorgeous doll. IT needs to be upfront with collectors and maybe include a IRL natural lighting photo of the dolls in the initial email from now on. -Sang

The hair length is not an issue for me, what I like in them is mostly their nude make up ... I didn't keep my It girl magic with her peach hair, but made her blond, she is gorgeous like this so the In my skin is a great alternative and will become her cousin in my collection ... regarding the Karolins, I won't keep the convention one, I prefer a lot My allure as we can see her beautiful eyes much better ... I'm more bothered by the fact that the price went up than the hair issue ... and I'd like that all Nu Face girls have the Essential treatment but hoping the price won't go up each year ... thanks for your great review :)

Thanks for watching! It girl with blonde hair? That sounds beautiful. I think prices will naturally go up but hopefully to give employees a fair wage so they can keep up with quality control. I don't mind paying more if it means I get the quality and craftsmanship I expect and pay for and no budget cuts. And YES, gimme the twins and ayumi essentials please! -Sang

I don't like that mold of Colette. I think her eyes look very small. But her bodysuit is perfect. I'd like to by it for my Supernova ♥️ Meanwhile Karolin is amazing doll with beautiful hair color but she couldn't catch me to buy her ☺️

I think it was a mistake of the factory part. Maybe there was a miscommunication between the designer and the employees on the length of the hair. But IT should have done more to inform collectors of this change. -Sang
