I just called an Intel sales representative, he says this processor is not backwards compatible with Intel socket 1155, 1567, 1248, 988a, 1366, 441, Socket P, 771, Socket M, 755, 479, 604, PAC611, 603, 611, 604, PAC418, 495, 478, 423, 370, slot 2, Slot 1, Socket 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and Socket 1. I asked him why not, and he just gave me some run around. I then asked him, why not start off with a package that has enough pins you will ever need, and stick with just one form factor.
