Since the lawsuit, McDonald's allowed their franchises to switch to a different manufacturer (less than a third of McDonald's still use them). So Taylor poisoned their own brand and destroyed what was effectively a 60 year deal because of greed.

After that point then, why have an advertiser ID to begin with? It cannot do anything but you but it makes ads annoyingly creepy, which you should block anyways.

It seems to me that chip manufacturers are becoming increasingly tested at trying to keep up the constant performance increases without turning their products into small and expensive power-devouring nuclear furnaces that people will buy….except that’s the direction they will need to go in order to keep up with the expected performance increases… Couple that with software manufacturers trying to head in other directions and the general underutilization and spotty optimization across the board - something will either grind to a halt or fall apart before sweeping changes are made.

​@@DoktorJava No it's not. Any architecture can be pushed if you want it to. Nvidia's Grace CPU (144 core) is ARM based but has a TDP of 500 watts, the same as AMD's latest top end x86 server CPU (192 core). Ampere's top of the line ARM CPU (192 core) has a TDP of 350 watts.

1:08 I come from the era where you would buy a bunch of hardware and spend lots of money on your 486 processor then struggle with buying more than 4 MB of RAM or get a slightly better video card, and in a month it was obsolete. I kind of get a kick out of how processors have hit the wall and can't get significantly faster, but marketing keeps trying to pull the wool over our eyes telling us it is faster than the last generation. The gains are not worth upgrading. I am running an i7 4th gen and it is keeping up to what I need it to do. We are being fed a bunch of BS by the manufacturers.

Out goes 7900x which was damn fine actually. 48GB cl30 6200 ram stable with tweaked timings perfect at 1.35v. 2 TB SPATIUM pci gen5 nvme and 2 x 4TB WD black gen5. 360AIO push pull. Short of a threadripper this is gonna rock for VMs and A.I. With a 4090.. 9950x is the capstone.

I may be wrong but I am on Balanced power profile because in the past I think you don't get the C-state and Speed Step if you are on High Performance. That means you are using more power if you are just on idle. I'm not sure if that's still the case but I remember that's the reason I've stayed on Balanced since the last time I looked at this (admittedly a long time ago) because I just don't like the idea of my system wasting unnecessary power when all I'm doing is watching a youtube video. If that's true (I honestly am not sure), I doubt *all* gamers would choose High Performance even if they are performance-conscious.
