In a nutshell, Conduct a market research, See what people want and need. Make it, Sell them that. And when this idea becomes old, do another research, make a new product or idea and sell it again. And the cycle continues

Paper.. not just market research.. the act of building the perfect product itself, going through that process you learn how to create a more perfect product. Using Tesla as an example after they built the cyber truck, imagine how much they learned and how they could created better cyber vehicle the next time. Especially the manufacturing process. Which the factory itself is thought of as a product at Tesla. But yes user feedback is also important in the production design.
