Day 1 player here as well. Cap'n, you were the one responsible for getting me out of my comfort zone and out to Nullsec and to Catskull. Maybe over the weekend I will fire up the labtop and see how EO runs. If it goes well I will reach out to everyone. Last time I played EO was 2009, and was excited for when EE came so I had a platform to play EVE on. It is sad affair. Supported the game, even bought two nanocores because I really thought they were cool (no Capitals), but you are right, it is time to start hoping. As someone who has always been a primary Miner/Explorer/PvE (stories not ratting) I probably should have bailed long before this. I am sad I never obtained my Stratos, but then once I got it, what do you do with it. Oh well, guess I will just be spending more time playing (and spending a little) Marvel Snap, until I can get back up on EO, as well as it frees more time up for tabletop gaming. Get to cranking out those EO videos Benzie, as I know it will help bring that excited, positive, bastard I have been supporting for a long while now, back to life.

Always loved watching your videos all the way back on your Razer 2. It always confused the hell out of me because I was using the same phone and would look up at the corner and be like. "How am at 45% battery? I just charged it. And what the hell is that notification?!!!" Then would have a good laugh about it. I do miss that phone sometimes! Upgraded to an ASUS ROG 3 as Echoes released which was categorically better than the RP2, but I still miss that damned phone 😂 I'm on a Pixel 7 now, which is amazing, but doesn't work with my capture card so I still have to use the ASUS from time to time. Let's be real, I refuse to believe that anyone started playing EE because it's a well designed game. The game was barely playable for the first year. The second year got better but local was still broke half the time. We enjoy EE bc of what it is, an escape to a place where we can fly spaceships. The communities that we have built will keep us in the game as they always have. This core isn't the end, it's just a continuance of what we have been getting. You’re right, automated nanocores is not EVE. EVE is Everyone Vs Everyone, that’s what I come for and ultimately pay for. As a PvP centric MMO we the players choose our own path in the game. We build our communities around the prospect of PvP. Fundamentally what EE and EO share in common. I do however wish that PvE was actively engaging but I’m also ok with it being somewhat automated. Perhaps this version of the intelligent nanoncore is only available during the Awakening Iron Rain event. I’m ok with that too. I’m hoping however it is some kind of craft-able process requiring materials.

The only reason I never got as heavily into EO as I did EE is because when I first played EO and wanted to take a jump to null, it was demanded that I grant very invasive access to my entire account (they could read my messages, see my wallet balance, skills, etc.) AND they demanded I download and run some very invasive software on my computer while playing. It felt very intrusive and made me incredibly uncomfortable and I quit EO very soon after.

Sounds like you found the wrong crowd and sadly judged the entire game on that. Some API based tools require access to some details (like pyfa will want to know your skills, Tripwire uses your location etc) but don't judge an entire game on a few folks in the community being awful.

This nanocore will turn people into NPC. Not a single MMO has benefited from complexe automation/ botting mechanisms, especially a sandbox. This sad, but predicable, Netease greed turned this game into a "pay to not play".

The only reason I could EVER fathom to buy the Smart Nanocore, or even make use of that service is if they made the onboard AI smarter so as to say more than just "Autopilot Engaged", "Warp Drive Active", so as to have more of a simulated conversation. It's sad that Eve Echoes went the path that it did. I hope that next time CCP games choose a better partner to work on a mobile game, or the CCP games manage to develope EVE anywhere to the point you can confortably play eve anywhere with ease (puns intended), then I guess there will be no need for a mobile version of the EVE universe. It's sad that this happened, at least it was fun while it lasted and that is something that can't be taken away. See you in the original EVE expirience o7.

The genuine hope is that EVE Anywhere being rolled out, and the new updates to Photon UI (which they've mentioned allow them to develop whole new systems) might allow for touch interfacing. On the other hand, CCP is currently developing its own mobile game in the form of Project M5 and it looks promising, though it's a very different beast.

It’s funny, EO can make rewarding content that can be done in 5-15 minute chunks. To get anywhere in EE you really need to set aside multiple hours. How did the “casual” version of EVE get to the point that it’s so time intensive that it requires you to automate your character.

However since NetEase is catering to current T10 players (specifically whales… I hate whales btw), there’s not much content for new players to “level the plain field” and there’s still no update on the Yan Jung ships. I’m still waiting for its FAUX version. I had to hit lazarus on my decomposer skills for the carriers AND just when I got a hold of those. An update about TITANS were announced (it will be in August I think, correct me if I’m wrong) Sorry if reading this forces you to take Ibuprofen, I may need to take one as well. I agree with you that there are a lot of wrong and bad things, but as I said in the other video: "I'll adapt. I don't have time to play EO. I've tried. I'll keep playing EE even if I don't agree with everything." There are several mobile games that do the same thing, "auto farm". I don't like it, but it's very common. It's not game over yet, not all players play in High-Sec or only in High-Sec.

@@captainbenzie bitterness and negativity can lead down that road...but it can also lead to wisdom and forgiveness. It's up to you to choose that direction. I see it as a frustration brought about by the love of something you watched grow up from infancy to now a teen that rejects you later. Eventually you have to let it go while being wiser and forgiving. It's not easy at all...and I fail at it 10 fold often. And I know for you christian spirituality may not play a role but this is how God has taught me. I'm not a saint...far from it....HAHA! But I do understand there are seasons in life...and while you had fun...it may be time to close that chapter and open a new one. No, as far as I know Omega doesn't renew automatically, everytime you buy it you increase a downward timer and when it ends your character goes back to being alpha, until you buy another subscription. The game will warn you when your omega is ending, but if you uninstall it it shouldn't be able to make you pay more than what you did

AI in EVE is your shipboard computer relaying all the info to you, all the drones, the Sleepers themselves etc. In EVE, you are a capsuleer. An immortal demigod who can control an entire capital ship using just your mind. You're connected to it to feel the ship as an extension of your body EVE is ultimately BEYOND AI. I just find it crazy that I can load up EO for 15-30 minutes and feel like I accomplished something. Echoes, we have to grind for hours, dedicate our lives to it to feel like we accomplished ANYTHING

Personally I think this could be beneficial to some. Id honestly want to use the core (despite its cost) because im always working, and unable to actually have meaningful time to play and progress. Now with a nano that can actually help me make isk, I can actually spend more time in pvp when I DO have time to play😂

What I hope this is and it would be cool is if this was like the ship rental program where you go and tell your ship to do some thing and then you as a character can go do something else so you can have two ships ratting in the same system while you’re gate camping, somewhere else, the display name will be just ai but it can still be shut down by other players more risk more reward

I can earn 160m an hour easily as an Alpha in EVE Online. The numbers are relative so... There's that. There's also the fact that EO I can log in for 15-30 minutes and feel like I achieved something. Echoes I now need to log in, leave my phone running all day, just to feel like I achieved ANYTHING. Theres content for all ships in EO, and literally every ship has a use. As an example, why would a miner ever fly a Covetor, Procurer, or Retriever in Echoes when you can fly a Covetor II? There's legit reasons to use all barges. I mine in a Prospect, for example, but there are times when I still undock the Venture. Also, $20 Omega for an entire account, compared to $15 per character. Take your pick. I just think EO actually offers value for the spend.

I’ve been out of the game for a few months now. This will help me to never return. The frustrating thing is the CEO, or the head of Echoes, stated that they played EVE Online and loved the game. For them to turn Echoes into this travesty is disheartening. They need to rename their game EVE Echoes Idle.

The fact that this AI nanocore upgrade allows players to do encounter missions in high sec and even pick up loot. Means players will now upgrade their nanocore, login and let the game run itself in highsec encounters, reach the limit, turn off the game. Absolutely no interaction with other players. What is the point of this game now?… They are literally treating it like any other mobile gacha game with “sweep” feature. So disappointing.. game is dead. Lowsec will be even more dead.

Honestly, my friend, they don't care. They're losing so many people, but the $150 a month you were spending there is chump change compared to the folks NetEase care about. They want the folks who were buying the CyberX cores for all their ships across multiple accounts, who purchased and upgraded Golden Implants on Day One. We, the people, are nothing to them.
