IntelliJ IDEA. Managing File Copyright Notices

Thanks, this was indeed helpful, I could not figure it out on my own or from the online documentation alone. However, it is noted nowhere that copyright profiles can only be associated with "shared" scopes, i.e., "local" scopes do not work! (Took me hours to find that out.) Also, IntelliJ's "Update Copyright..." tool only shows an "Analyze" button, which one would expect to "analyze", but once pushed it performs the whole update without any feedback whatsoever! Which is strange, since otherwise IntelliJ is overly careful when refactoring anything. I always need to use GIT to check what actually happened ...

Can we configure to have copyright automatically added to only certain type of files such as .java files?

I wish we would not have to duplicate the copyright in every single file. Does anyone know why this is necessarily?
