In what could only be better described as part three of IntelliJ IDEA Tips and Tricks, in this talk Hadi Hariri will show you some new (and some not so new) tips and tricks for using IntelliJ IDEA but with a twist. Yes, in this edition, he'll be doing it from the comfort of his own home. And if that isn't an exciting enough abstract, then wait for the session. While you may not learn many things, some jokes may be new.

Hadi, I've watched every, everything you've ever posted and I haven't learned so much new outside the things you want to do and the documentation that comes along with every release. So very much repetion for me as a Pro Pro Pro user ;) humblue is not my strong suite rearding Intellij. BUT today I've actually learned and started using them. 1) remove tabs - briliant - why have I every displayed them? I don't click on them. 2) Line numbers - are you for real - how good was that when you removed them. Go to line is enough! Wow - you don't know how much faster and cleaner my Idea usages has been today! You are by far the best instructor for advance and beginner user of idea - you hands on the best! I will never miss a talk with you! Thank you for making me so awesome at my job with idea :)

Pro tip: and this comes almost everything that you've showed: you say many times "throw away the mouse" and I love that!!! Sometimes though you need that thing, and therefore I've mapped every useful refactoring and navigation shortcut to be used the the left hand while you still keep the hand on the mouse and can select stuff right after the one-hand-refactoing. Please can't your next talk be about left hand shortcuts?

31:55 keep on pressing cmd+j and you'll have a 300 character line. Notepad++ does it splitting on the editor limit (or screen, I don't remember)

Add a feature for Timezone and Epoch conversions in Intellij?

One feature I really miss in Intellij. If a json string has a comment on it like //language=JSON It should show the string beautified and without escape sequence without entering edit json fragment. Maybe as you do it while debugging code and you are showing the value of a variable.

Indexing these you tube videos and adding them to search-everywhere is the next obvious addition to suggest to your UX team. CTRL+SHIFT+U, then | (pipe character). Yes, ‘You-Pipe’. Pro Top: Don't waste your time or money trying to remote development on wsl. It will eat 10G+ and demand more on the linux side alone. Budget another 2-3 gigs for the windows side. And it will get constant disconnects and crashes. Intellij is beyond useless, literally wasted hours and hours on this crap. Tried vs code and... it just works.
