You know how tall things are and can extrapolate apparent height from that. Don't do it with doors, they're often freakishly high to account for cameras.

The whole "Give Ellie a choice" thing.. Do you see Ellie in TLoU1 as adult? She is a kid. Of course they should have an increasing amount of agency, but there are and should be limits. That is what being (an adoptive) parent is about.

so this playthrough is old and I'm not sure what specifically you're commenting on, but yes Ellie is 14 in the first game but we can't view her the same way we see 14 year olds in our world now. she raised herself. she grew up in military school in a post-pandemic world. Joel isn't her parent or even her adopted parent. him protecting her for a year doesn't suddenly grant him the right to make choices for her. and fwiw the fireflies weren't in the right either as they should have gotten her consent.

Why is transphobia in a post-apocalyptic environment somehow less bad? I don't understand. These people started out as Americans and regressed *wildly* during the apocalypse and because they adopt a new religious figure it is suddenly less bad or more excusable?

If we’re assuming these games happen in a world with the same histories as us, then the states never experienced a shift in views favoring the LGBT community. 2013 was around the time a sudden rise in suicides were making national headlines and some states were fighting for marriage equality. KZbin was still in its early days, the characters in this world would never see these events bear fruit
