I've seen operators load the hopper full, the weight helps it feed. When a gas pipeline went through the porperty they have a shredder/chopper made by Vemeere, they spread the chips as they went and planted grass.

Maybe it's a combination of things like turning up the HP or some settings adjustments. I would give the sales representative a call and tell him what you're trying to shred and maybe he has some suggestions 😊

I don't know to much about the volumes and economies of your operation but to me it looks like it would make sense to put one of these in tandem with a high speed shredder and leave it at the crate and pallet wood and shred the wood literally as it comes in. As you said, it would mean that you could literally take in any wood that comes your way which should considerably increase the volume coming through just the scrap wood processing which might just make it viable to dedicate the equipment just for that use. Just a thought.

The Roto Chopper handled the pallets, poles, scraps, etc. with no problem whatsoever. You were right about the need for a “catch container” for the majority of the metal that’s taken by the “MAG belt”. After a couple days of pallets, lumber, scraps, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if the accumulation of metal that came from the wood might be close to 2 or 3 55 gal. drums. I don’t know if you’d agree but, to me I would definitely hold onto it until there was about a 1/2 ton or a full ton & take it to a recycling center as sorted scrap & get the maximum you can get for it. Just like what you’re doing with the wet concrete excess that’s not needed on new concrete jobs & using it to make the massive concrete retaining wall blocks. Those are 2 stellar ideas taking in a material 1.)unused wet concrete & 2.)broken/ unwanted pallets & utility pole rejects/ scraps, then make money on the unwanted material. Excellent ideas. To me it looks like you’ve got at least somewhat of a goldmine. As always great content & keep up the great work.

One thing that would increase the overall speed for any of your grinders would be to get a small wheeled material handler with a hydraulic cab and 4 or 5 tine scrap grapple with an integrated magnet in the grapple center. Both Sennebogen and Liebherr make them. Wheeled to have speed between the different stations and get rid of undercarriage costs. The elevated cab keeps you off the piles and with a great view of the infeed tub. The magnet will let you pull the ferrous off the separate run material. It will speed your overall time X 1.5 times easy. Way less hassle than the excavator with a thumb.
@VideosByAl6 ай бұрын
Another benefit to the slow speed grinder is less fine material in the primary brake down process. Thus more sellable material get to the colorizer instead of the compost pile.

A quick read of the brochure suggests there's three rotor options - coarse wood, fine wood, and MSW/C&D which I think is what you have now. Given you're doing pretty much all materials with this, you probably don't want to be changing rotors and breaker bars all the time, so stick with the current set for your landfill and pallets as it handles them just fine. Stumps, can either split them and try it with this or stick with the current operation of split and high speed grind. Look forward to more vids!

With the amount of metal that comes from lumber scrap, pallets & crates, eventually you could have & recycle enough metal that COULD possibly pay for a small dumpster or some other kind of hard wearing container to pair up with the machine to catch more of the same material. That would be like with the excess unneeded concrete that’s used to make the LARGE concrete blocks for heavy duty retaining walls or to use for building containment bays or pens for keeping materials isolated so they don’t mix with anything else until you want them to. It’s incredible how the funds needed for some things just seems to SHOW UP only because of the existence of the processing of the material where there was possibly a problem. The problem becomes the answer!!! Absolutely incredible!!!!!!

Of all the other grinder videos ive watched. To me those set of "teeth" are good for all around general purpose grinding. It will do the job of grinding stumps, just got to be a little patience with it. Also put 3 or 4 stumps in at a time to keep the pressure on the shafts to help feed the stumps. You can also ask the rep to see if changing out the rotors to one with more of a shredder hook would be more beneficial. Or even better have both kind of rotors, use the ones currently in the machine for everyday grinding. Then when thise rotors need hard faceing slap the hook rotors on and knock out the stumps. And when the others are done, switch them back. Also i believe there is a attachment for the excavator cab that can raise/ lower it, so both machines can be at ground level and the operator can still see in the hopper.
