Yes, That is a ant war. They can fight over food or territory. And the they are from the Myrmica species aka the European Fire ant 😁

@@ViCt2101 Too small for Tetramorium, And they are black. Ants in the video were a deep red, Myrmica species. More than likely Myrmica Rubra. : )

Nice video Petko, very nice content/info! Your opening made me laugh though with the "Ant war with one side very clearly winning........but im not sure whats actually going on fully". Im by no means any Ant expert at all, or even have an opinion on the ants given the brief cameo. I was just suprised by those 2 statements in that order and timing not sure if it was meant as a joke or not, but it's a fitting analogy pertaining circumstances! Hopefully your pairing went well, such a nice pair. I wasn't aware they shared characteristics with the columbian giant redleg with defensive behavior either, wich is interesting!

If not mistaken, those are fire ants. They are basically being raided by another colony of ants and they are defending their nest. That's basically the answer to ur how and why question.

Those little ants are tetramorium, and their known for their little territory battles, if 2 colonies that are too close to eachother they will usually fight over territory.

this might be an ant raid - some species of ants regularly raid other ant colonies to get hold of their pupae to eat them. The same is going on between ants and termites in the australian outback.

Let me tell you a little bit about a brown recluse. I was bitten by one in 1980. I was one of six people that were bit. It started out just like a little blister and then it grew and grew. It causes necrosis and my tissue was killed down to my shin bone. The doctors didn't know what it was. He gave me a tetanus shot and some pain pills. When they did find out what had happened it was a little too late. I had to go to a wound care center because it couldn't close up it needed to heal from the bottom up like an abscess. If it healed on top instead of healing from the bottom up it would not have been good becoz it would have had to be scrubbed open again. It took 7 months to heal and I still have the scar 28 years later. Here's the part that really sucks. I visited a friend in Washington DC and the Smithsonian's special feature of the month was arachnids I would finally get to see the spider that cause me such pain and humiliation. When I saw this little brown bastard of a spider that was smaller than a freaking almond I was really pissed. I was expecting to see some big hairy monster with giant fangs!!! instead I saw a little tiny spider with a fiddle design on its back that didnt look like anything dangerous.. Don't let their size fool you. If these Critters bite a baby or an adult with a compromised immune system they can really put you down fast. One gentlemen that worked on the telephone lines was bitten on the temple by one and he passed away. The poison dissolved everything right through its Temple into his brain. It wasn't a quick fast death either. It was long and slow and painful. all right ladies and Gentlemen let's get back to our show!!!

Just walked n2 my kitchen & my male kitty was yelling at me. I looked to check the food & water dishes & they were all good yet all 3 cats just stood at the food tray & stared at me...I looked closer & a fresh wolf spider molt sitting n their tray. Ha I picked up the tray & removed it. When I put their tray back all 3 cats inspected it closely b4 taking a bite. Funny evening 😁

Hello I’m kinda new to the hobby I only got 3 slings and the first 2 I got were gbb and Brazilian white knee and I had no idea how crazy a h maniculata “prob botched spelling” sling would be I was just unboxing it the other day and as soon as it saw daylight it said whoosh and was the fastest little thing ever and when I finally got it in its enclosure “bottle” it was flying around going crazy I almost shit myself I don’t know if I wanna get any old worlds anytime soon lol love the vids she was tweeking today 🤣

It did not hurt that long I think it only lasted like 7 or 8 hours...
