Chiropractic is bullshit and not based on actual medicine or facts. Hair cracking is the result of the layer of connective tissue on your scalp being pulled, the cracking sound is the result of the connective tissue slapping back against the skull

And yes you are on the right track with the hair thing, I don't believe the sound is created from the "connective tissue slapping back against the skull". It's probably due to the space filling with fluids and then dispersing them or something along those lines. Or perhaps cracking the fascia. Feel free to google what it is.

Check "Dr. Mondragon's hair cracking", she is a chiropractor here on YT. You'll understand that it's congestion between the skull and the skin. It pops the same as when you crack any bone

It didn’t hurt, but it startled me because I wasn’t expecting it and I didn’t know what it was. I had to look it up and found that chiropractors and Indian barbers do it. I haven’t been able to recreate it though so I’m sad. lol
