Because unlike ranked with randoms, it's not important who picks the brawlers, but which brawlers and in what order, because some brawlers are really good in last pick, but terrible in first pick because they can be countered( or the other way around ), so even if the person with 1st pick is really good at that brawler if the brawler is not good first pick, they wait to see how the draft plays out and if that brawler is still viable, they pick it and switch

So basically each region has a certain amount of spots available for either a spot at the world finals or lcq (last chance qualifier) for NA which is this region covered in the video, there’s only two spots available that qualifies you for world finals and two spots that qualifies you for lcq, the teams battle it out in a tournament bracket system for points in the monthly finals and there are 8 teams in all regions that participate in their respective monthly finals. 1st place gets you 100 points 2nd place is 70 points 3-4 place is 50 points 5-8 is 35 points It’s just that NA is extremely competitive and 1-5 place teams right now are close except for pioneers
